Oct 20, 2014 7:50 PM in response to cincydnbby Claggles,I Have also upgraded my iPhone 5 to 8.1 and the problem has not been resolved. Prior to upgrading I was able to use the home button to make a call. Now Siri attempts to make a call ant it is 'terminated by the network' before connecting. WHY??
THis his post originally referred to problems with iPhone 5. It seems from reading this discussion that problems with iphone 6 have been fixed but NOT IPHONE 5! Come on APPLE!!! GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER.

Oct 20, 2014 8:00 PM in response to Clagglesby ColRay,I believe you might be correct. Apple appears to have addressed the issue only for iPhone 6 and 6 plus. They are going to lose customers to Android because of this. It's shameful.

Oct 20, 2014 8:23 PM in response to ColRayby staggerlee41,I have a 5s and my issues seem to have been resolved. I stress seem because the update has been out for less than 24 hours. I know that before I applied 8.1, it was not working and now it is. It's unfortunate that so many are having problems. I hope beyond the fixes to get this corrected, it gives Apple food for thought on how to develop, test and deploy future software releases. The lesson it's taught me is that I will not be updating until I've done enough research to know the impact of doing so.

Oct 20, 2014 10:23 PM in response to dsjankelowby maca02,Is there anyone who tested this issue on the new iOS 8.1 in Volkswagen cars equipped with RCD510 or RNS510? I have this car with this radio device, but the iOS 8.x caused the issues listed above. Asking Siri when the phone was connected to Bluetooth never worked for me - it tried to create a phone call, but it was never done and then hangup and nothing happened.

Oct 22, 2014 12:58 AM in response to maca02by stb-1,
Clear the bluetooth paired devices from the car and iphone (after that you can preferably reboot the car device - how it is done is in the manual) then re-pair them. After 8.1 my audi q3, bluetooth headsets all seems to work normal... FYI: For Audi mmi to work properly you have to wait about 5 minutes

Oct 22, 2014 4:49 AM in response to stb-1by PicoKane,8.1 has dot fixed my BT issues with 4S in a 2013 Mazda-3. The phone connects fine to the car, but when making a call for some numbers it will not forward the audio to BT. Only after switching manually I get audio via BT. For the numbers that do work “properly”, when making a call I don’t hear the phone ring on the other end, nor do i hear the person pick-up and say “hello”. Not to nention that the audio qualaty *****. It sounds like the BT audio is getting passed through an eggbeater. My conclusion on iOS 8.1 for 4S is that it’s still broken, nothing has changed in regards to making calls using handsfree BT in my car. At this point Apple only cares about 5, 5S, and 6 phones. Apple you suck!!!!

Oct 22, 2014 3:38 PM in response to dsjankelowby NiftiMac,same issue here with Mitsubishi Pajero (Montero in the USA I believe), Siri starts the call, mutes radio, then drops the call, call shows as "cancelled" in history!
tried removing iPhone from paired devices and re adding back in, still same issue, was fine prior to iOS8, and just upgraded to iOS 8.2 and same issue still.
tried with iPhone 5, iPhone 5S and now 6, all exhibit the same issue.

Oct 23, 2014 6:21 AM in response to PicoKaneby Haty1,PicoKane having EXACTLY the same issues with my 4S and Mazda 6. Bluetooth worked perfectly for the last few years but broken since upgrade to iOS8 it is broken. 8.1 did NOT fix it. Took it to Apple store tonight who told me as it is out of warranty it was not their problem. I beg to differ and think that ACCC might agree with me.

Oct 23, 2014 6:34 AM in response to dsjankelowby SSi3,I'm happy to report that 8.1 did indeed fix my BT issues between my 4S and 2010 BMW iDrive system.

Oct 23, 2014 6:42 AM in response to Haty1by MX14,That's bullsh*t!!! Although the hardware is out of warranty, It's their software that created this problem. It's not even like you have a choice whether you want to upgrade or not because if you ever restore your phone it automatically forces you to upgrade, there's no option to stay with the version you have. I would be calling AppleCare or taking another visit to a Apple Store.

Oct 23, 2014 6:46 AM in response to dsjankelowby MX14,After upgrading to 8.1 and removing/unpairing all devices from Uconnect in my 2012 Jeep patriot, rebooting all Apple devices, then re-pairing my devices all is good!

Oct 25, 2014 2:40 PM in response to pthielenby abonoda77,Even after this last update my Bluetooth on my Acura MDX, which worked for over 8 years with previous versions of the Apple IOS, was rendered useless by 8 and 8.1. But you'll find it's our fault for not contacting our dealerships before upgrading our phones. I've been told this crap by users that it's not Apple's fault. It's time for me to leave this cult. If I can't use my phone in my car like it used to before their "upgrade", then this phone becomes a glorified paperweight with no use to me.
