Sep 19, 2014 10:15 AM in response to IPKby jbatch45,I agree with renaming this thread. I'm having an issue with iPhone 5 after iOS 8 update in a 2010 Buick LaCrosse. I have no audible ringtones when originating a handsfree call with steering-wheel contols. Ringtones are present over car speakers when originating a call from my phone. I do have ringtones with incoming calls. I deleted, unpaired, and re-paired - no change. My phone is through AT&T. I tried a friend's updated (Sprint) iPhone 5 and both outgoing and incoming ringtones are fine. Crazy!!!

Sep 19, 2014 12:14 PM in response to dsjankelowby HeartbeatAmplifier,I have this problem with my Kenwood receiver KVT-512 with Bluetooth module KCA-BT200. My AT&T iPhone 4S has worked fine for 3 years, my iPhone 4 before that, and my iPhone 3G before then. The iOS 8 update is a problem. I called Kenwood and they said I was the first one to report a problem with iOS 8 to them. They will not be updating this 6 year old Bluetooth module. So, it's on Apple to fix this.
I noticed it this morning when I got the first call since the update. My own number was shown on the Kenwood screen as the incoming call, and the answer button was dimmed so I couldn't press it. When I pulled the phone from my pocket to answer it, the head unit reverted back to playing my music. The only way I could get the call audio to play through the speakers was to go through the Bluetooth A2DP player.
When I re-paired both devices, I saw a behavior that others have described here. Immediately on pairing, the incoming call screen takes over my head unit and first shows my number, then the last number that called me, even though no call is in progress. The caller name has two words, one is Interrupt, I forget the other right now. The call screen never lets go and I can't do anything else on my stereo system. When I placed a call from my phone and selected the BT as the source, the BT mic did work and the sound did come from the speakers. But, it never showed the correct caller and didn't let go of the screen when the call ended.
I also tested this with someone else's Verizon iPhone 5 with iOS 8 that had never been paired with my BT previously. It worked perfectly fine, as my phone used to before the update. I don't know what's going on here. I'm trying to get an iPhone 6 and I wonder if that will work either.

Sep 19, 2014 12:36 PM in response to dsjankelowby SamBai,I had the same problem with Ford MySync. Was working perfect with IOS 7. Upgraded to IOS 8 and it started giving issues. When I use car voice command, it dials but call drops after a sec. If i use my phone to connect nothing happens and I have to switch to speaker or i-phone to listen.
Then I found iOS: Troubleshooting Bluetooth connections
For me resetting the network settings worked. I'm now able to use my car Bluetooth like before. I had to re-enter my WiFi password as it wiped out all N/W settings. I'd say go through the support page and follow the instructions and I'm sure one of the solution with resolve the issue.

Sep 19, 2014 12:37 PM in response to dsjankelowby SuwaneeAppleseed,Yep, exact same issue on my 2009 Mazda CX 9!
Worked with IOS 7. I can still make calls, but it switches from Bluetooth to PHONE when I do. I have to manually switch the interface back to BLUETOOTH. Nasty when driving.!!!!

Sep 19, 2014 1:31 PM in response to dsjankelowby Moon Collider,Hi All,
The fix to your problem is:
Reset your Network Settings on your iphone!
- Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
- This will reset all network settings including: previously connected Wi-Fi networks and passwords, recently used Bluetooth accessories, VPN, and APN settings.
I had the same issue with my Audi A6 as most have here. After resetting the Network Settings, it works like a charm!
Let us know if this fixed your problem too!

Sep 19, 2014 2:01 PM in response to Moon Colliderby geofflewis,Resetting Network Connections did not work for my BMW 535 or my Plantronics earpiece. I also tried forgetting the device and reconnecting and that did not work.

Sep 19, 2014 2:07 PM in response to geofflewisby wegras,Did you clear the pairing at car end as well
Upgrades to iOS often changes the signature of the iPhone and causes issues in pairing
Clear all pairings at car end,( BMW has a limit to number of pairings stored )and remove from iPhone and start again

Sep 19, 2014 2:10 PM in response to Moon Colliderby Scissors529,After the iOS 8 update on my iPhone 5s, I, too, was unable to use the phone in my 2012 Nissan Altima. I removed the device from the car's Bluetooth and re-paired it - still no go. I then followed the suggestion by Moon a few posts above by resetting my network passwords. I then re-paired the phone to my car and it is now working perfectly......so far.
As someone stated, don't forget to re-enter your Wi-Fi password(s) for home, office, etc.
