Cannot see Facebook comments when typing - ios8 on iPad3

I updated my iPad 3 to iOS8 and have also applied all available app updates, including Facebook.

When I attempt to reply to a Facebook post, the comment box is hidden beneath the keyboard and I cannot see what I'm typing nor edit very easily.

If I minimise the app then reopen, the comment box appears above the keyboard and I can type and edit normally.

Anyone else getting this issue? I have friends reporting that they don't.
