Sep 18, 2014 6:22 AM in response to LeeS7237by raymond73,Go into settings and find out which app is draining the battery. Settings -> General -> Usage -> Battery Usage. The app that is using the most may not be compatible with IOS 8 and will have to be removed or updated.

Sep 18, 2014 6:46 AM in response to raymond73by LeeS7237,Thanks for responding,
The top 3 apps currently are:Settings at 25%
Home & Lock Screen 18%
and Facebook 17%(However Facebook is as up to date as it can be, I updated it just before the iOS update).
this is with 25% remaining and a usage time of 2 Hours 26 Minutes.

Sep 18, 2014 10:42 AM in response to LeeS7237by LeeS7237,So I've run my phone right out of battery now (so it turns off) and the last record I got was at 1/2%, they were as follows:
Usage: 3 Hours 30 Minutes
Standby: 10 Hours 25 MinutesBattery usage percentages:
Settings: 25%
Home & Lock Screen: 20%
Facebook: 15%
No Mobile Coverage: 8% (which is expected as there is only signal in 2 spots in my house)Messages: 6%
Safari: 5%Mail: 4%
Phone: 4%
Twitter:3%App Store: 3%
Snapchat: 2%
Instagram: 2%
Photos: 1%
Calculator: 1%
IMDB: 1%
iTunes Store: 1%Anyone got any views on this?
Baring in mind I could get between 6-9 hours Usage on top of 10 hours Standby on iOS 7.1.2.

Sep 18, 2014 1:35 PM in response to LeeS7237by dubs24,I am having the same issues! I recently updated to iOS 8 on my iPhone 5S last night, prior to the update my battery was working just fine but after I updated to iOS 8 I noticed my battery life change and drain more quickly after minimal use.

Sep 18, 2014 1:58 PM in response to dubs24by LeeS7237,Hey dubs24 and phoenix99tm,
kentuckyman78 seems to be the one one who's been able to get through to Apple about the matter,
hopefully he he will get a response soon and we can all be free of battery draining.

Sep 18, 2014 3:36 PM in response to phoenix999tmby LeeS7237,I completely agree.
charged my phone up from dead (turned off) to full 100% and had a 1 hour phone call with my partner (which isn't uncommon) and my battery is already down to 70%, the phone call was with everything off but what I needed to call (so no WiFi etc.) and its already down to 70%.
With iPhone 5s specifications suggesting I could get up to 10 hours call time (therefore suggesting 10% per hour of call time), loosing 30% is triple that rate, suggesting our batteries are being drained at at least 3x what they should be.

Sep 19, 2014 2:04 AM in response to LeeS7237by LeeS7237,Another quick update for everyone.
I have successfully depleted my battery for a second time, this time I only got 3 Hours (and about 9 Minutes) usage.
Things are getting worse and the phone is getting hotter, I hope this is sorted ASAP before phones get damaged.

Sep 19, 2014 2:17 AM in response to LeeS7237by killhippie,My 5S is behaving fine, but there are some bugs, battery life is shorted byt not by much and thats to be expected. Have you tried a soft reboot? Hold power button and home button till the apple logo appears? If that does not fix it I would suggest aclean install and start from scratch, don't use a backup as that may have some corruption causing this issue maybe. Hope it gets sorted out
