C compiler

Hi

As a new mac user, i have no idea of what C compiler is good to use. In my classes they use LCC, but there's no mac version. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated, and if you live in the area, even recompensated, jo

Your best choice is Apple's own free development suite called Xcode that uses gcc 4.0 at its heart. It's on the OS X install disk or online at Apple's.

Obviously, there others, but I suggest to start with Xcode and then see if you need anything else.

If you are 100% command line person, all the typical Unix gcc stuff is a part of development suite too.

Your mac comes with gcc instaled - gcc is a GNU project C and C++ compiler. Great compiler for school. For gcc, goto Terminal (Applications | Utilities) and types "gcc" at the command prompt. For instructions, type "man gcc" at the command prompt.

You could also used Apple's XCode, which is on the CD's that come with your mac or download eclipse from eclipse.org.
