To troubleshoot this issue where iTunes becomes unresponsive when you connect an iOS device to your computer please follow the steps in the article below.

It doesn't occur on a different computer, only mine. I have tried all the suggestions in the article above and nothing.
Feeling very let down at the moment apple!

The instructions to create a new user on a Mac or PC can be found in the support article linked to originally.
If the issue does not happen on a different computer, or no other computer is available to try
It can be useful to determine if the issue affects a specific computer user account or all accounts.
Follow the steps below for your operating system to create a new user account to test.Windows XP
- From the Start menu, choose Control Panel.
- Open User accounts.
- Select Create a new account and follow the instructions to complete the account setup process.
- Once the new account is created, choose Log Off from the Start menu.
- Log in to the newly created user account.
- Open iTunes and determine whether the issue you were experiencing persists in this new user.
Windows Vista or Windows 7
- From the Start menu, choose Control Panel.
- Open Add or remove user accounts (If using the Classic View in Windows Vista, open User Accounts. Then open Manage another account).
- Select Create a new account and follow the instructions to complete the account setup process.
- Once the new account is created, choose Log Off from the Start menu.
- Log in to the newly created user account.
- Open iTunes and determine whether the issue you were experiencing persists in this new user.
Mac OS X
- From the Apple () menu, choose System Preferences.
- Click Accounts.
- Click the Add (+) button below the list of accounts.
- Choose a type of account from the New Account pop-up menu. Make the new account an administrator.
- Enter a name for the account.
- Click Create Account.
- Click the Apple () menu and then choose Log out.
- When the login screen appears, log in to the new user you just created.
- Open iTunes and determine whether the issue you were experiencing persists in this new user.

Oct 5, 2014 5:08 AM in response to alex_h1by asalt,I tried creating a new user account. This works fine. But when I go back to original user account and create a new library; I tunes freezes again?
