Oct 3, 2014 7:48 PM in response to Joelrubiby gregreg,Tried all the solutions: changing language, iMessages on and off, etc.
The only procedure that worked perfectly was Joelrubi's one.
Thanks a lot!

Oct 5, 2014 12:35 AM in response to igor21by vincemomo,Hello
thank you all for sharing you experience.
unfortunatly none of the above solutions have worked for me.
I Have just even noticed that now after few manipulations on my iPhone 5s (with 8.02) the spotlight doesn't even work anymore...
HHas someone been able to reach Apple developpers ?
this bug doesn't seem to have been properly resolved over the different iOS version.
apple devs, if you read us! Can you fix that bug?
many thanks

Oct 6, 2014 9:17 PM in response to Joelrubiby Jav_Ace,No way!!! you are awesome @Joelrubi!!!!!, this not only fixed my spotlight search issue but also fixed a music library issue I was having while searching by Artist, some artist were showing up as double and search wouldn't find over half of my music.
But yes like most people already mentioned key is to wait 30 sec after switching the phones MAIN language to SPANISH, then toggle the spotlight option for messages off and on, wait like 10sec do a few searches and searches began to work slowly. After that return your phones language to English, restart your phone and everything back to normal
Thanks again guys

Oct 6, 2014 11:05 PM in response to Jav_Aceby corpski,In my experience, Joelrubi's solution is a temporary fix. The fix will undo itself anywhere from a few hours later to a few days. Apple still hasn't come up with a definitive fix to this problem. Good luck to you.

Oct 7, 2014 9:44 AM in response to dtedgeby jonathanfromstillwater,I'm on an iPhone 6 and updated to 8.0.2. had same problem with text search not Working. Changing the language to Spanish did not work. Toggling iMessage off and then searching for something and then going back and toggling it back on did work perfectly for me. Now my message search function works fine.

Oct 9, 2014 9:26 AM in response to stlgasmanby sput_nick,I have tried multiple times the changing language fix. It seems to start working while in Spanish, but then as soon as I change back to English, it stops again and get nothing but blank results. I have a chat with Apple through chat yesterday and they told me to erase my phone as set up as a new one to see if I'm still having troubles with it. Haven't been able to do that yet, because it's requiring a lot more time that I have to do that right now. I really wish a fix would come soon, this is becoming ridiculous that I can't search through my texts. 3 other people in my office with iPhones are having the exact same issue since upgrading to iOS 8.
