Blurry wallpapers in iOS 8

I have noticed that in iOS 8 on my iPhone 5S if you select a picture from Photos as your wallpaper, the resolution goes down massively. If you want a hi-res wallpaper to do your retina or HD retina justice, you left with just the default set of wallpapers to choose from. I hope this gets picked up by Apple and fixed in the next update to iOS 8. Disappointing. Has anyone else experienced this?

On an iphone 5s also noticed this, actually one of the first bugs I noticed since I use my own pics as wallpaper.

Luckily I only changed my background and not my lock-screen pic.

My lock-screen pic is still the old one I used in iOS 7 (and pixel-sharp..)

On the 18th of sep, I opened an thread on MacRumors forum titled: Wallpaper-setting BUG! (Picture for wallpaper becomes blurred when zooming in)

And I also posted on some other ' Bug' threads, with some people responding noticing the same.

Maybe its smart if we post this problem there as-well.

(The more posts, at different places, the more hope apple notices it, and picks this bug up to fix it!)

Hope they fix this soon!

Attention everybody! I have found a temporary solution/discovery about the bug. Essentially the problem is that in iOS 7 when selecting a background the image would zoom in, as always, however it would also make sure it keeps the quality consistent by using the best possible resolution. In iOS 8 the problem is as if you take a landscape painting and look at it very closely with the un-aided eye, all you get is a big blurry zoomed in image. That's essentially the problem with the bug. The solution? Select the photo you desire to be your background in the photos app, from there zoom in on the desired part of the photo as if you are positioning this as a wallpaper, screenshot the desired section at the desired zoom, then proceed to click on the screenshot/zoomed in version and use that for the wallpaper. This way iOS 8 has nothing to zoom in on, therefore nothing it can blur up. I understand my explanation may not be worded best or be too wordy but keep in mind I have been awake for 19 hours and the last time I slept was for 2 1/2 hours. Don't ask why, just saying why I may possibly sound incoherent right now. Who knows, this could also be college level writing but I am far too tired to distinguish between good and bad writing; anyway I hope I could help and good night my friends.
