Sep 18, 2014 5:21 PM in response to George Hiltonby David Harbsmeier,You have a few options:
1. Find suitable place halfway through the video that you can make a clean break (fade to black). Cut (Command x) everything on the Timeline after that and paste (Command v) it into a new Sequence ad add a fade in from black at the beginning. Then you can make two DVDs with close to the same duration (2 disc set).
2. Edit out an hour's worth of the program so it doesn't exceed two hours (iDVD can handle two hours).
3. Use Toast to compress and burn the DVD so all footage fits on one disc.
4. If iDVD can author dual-layer discs, use one of those.

Sep 23, 2014 2:18 PM in response to George Hiltonby MartinR,★HelpfulIf you get dual-layer DVD+R DL media you can put up to about 4 hours on a single disk. iDVD can handle this just fine, so can the DVD drive (superdrive) burner in your Mac.
I use (and can recommend) Verbatim Datalife media, the dual-layer variety comes in both silver and white-inkjet-printable surfaces.

Sep 23, 2014 2:24 PM in response to George Hiltonby MartinR,★HelpfulWell, sorry to have to say this, but CleanMyMac has a very bad reputation. Given the problems users have reported with CleanMyMac, I'd strongly recommend you remove it from your Mac posthaste.
Mavericks 10.9.4 is another issue ... FCE was discontinued over 3 years ago (even before Lion 10.7 was released). What version of FCE do you have? I don't think anything prior to FCE v4 will install on Mavericks.

Understand that FCE 3.5HD was discontinued back in 2007; and FCE 4 was discontinued in 2011. They are no longer supported and we're all on our own using them on Lion or later versions of OS X.
I haven't used FCE 3.5HD for years; the last system I ran it on was either Tiger (10.4) or Leopard (10.5) so I really can't advise you about its compatibility with Mavericks (10.9). It may work, it may not. You'll just have to try.
You *may* be able to use Pacifist to install FCE. The FCE installer itself is an old PPC application. On Intel Macs, Rosetta support was required to run PPC apps but Apple discontinued Rosetta with the release of Lion (10.7) - that's probably the reason you can't install FCE now that you are running Mavericks. Pacifist doesn't use Rosetta.
