Sep 24, 2014 10:44 AM in response to jglnaz372by PaulMorariu,Yeah..first thing I saw after updating was the **** pop-up

Sep 24, 2014 10:51 AM in response to PaulMorariuby npfetmac,Same here... 8.0.1 still has the popup. Also, for those reading this thread, be very careful about updating to 8.0.1 if you have a 6 or 6+, as it seems many (all?) 6/6+'s using US carriers are not having cell service or touchid after the update. I'm on a 5S with AT&T and am not seeing any of those problems.

Sep 24, 2014 10:59 AM in response to npfetmacby jesse_dylan,Great. Updated to fix the ****ing pop-up, and now I have no cell service. How long is this going to take to fix? This is unbelievable.

Sep 24, 2014 11:36 AM in response to jesse_dylanby jglnaz372,I Turned off my iPad hoping the reboot from being off would help. Wrong. Pop up still there.
just read 8.0.1 has been pulled due to major issues of cell service cutoff and Touch ID not working.

Sep 24, 2014 11:47 AM in response to jglnaz372by jesse_dylan,My bad for thinking an update would fix bugs instead of creating them! If only I hadn't read that the update was out before they pulled it.
For anyone hit by the bug, apparently this is a fix

I am going to try it but feel nervous about it.

Sep 25, 2014 11:51 AM in response to bigqukby dgtiziano,On my iPad Air the problem was the U2 album, and this workaround worked for me:
1 - go to this link: itunes.com/soi-remove and login with your Apple ID, this will hide your U2 album purchase from the Apple Store.
2 - turn off iPad
3 - from iTunes go in your apple store account then unhide the U2 purchase
4 - turn on iPad. As soon your iPad goes on and online the message will be the same, but now it will specify that is unable to download song of innocence booklet.
5 - turn off sync from iBook settings
6 - reboot iPad and message pop up gone at least for me.
I think worth a try.
And sorry for my poor English, I'm from Italy.
Ciao ciao

Sep 25, 2014 11:57 AM in response to dgtizianoby jesse_dylan,Yesterday I downloaded the 8.0.1 update to my iPhone 6 (my only affected device). It pretty much bricked my phone. I had to figure out how to use iTunes to restore to 8.0.0. (***** for people without computers... I'd never used iTunes before and resent having had to use it at all.)
Anyway, after that, I don't get the pop-up anymore, but I did also turn off the iBooks sync option, too, since I never use iBooks anyway.

Sep 25, 2014 1:13 PM in response to dgtizianoby jglnaz372,I Tried this method by going onto iTunes on a computer, unhide album, reboot, and still same pop up. Hopefully an update will soon address this. Thanks for posting your procedure. Might work for some, but not all.

Sep 25, 2014 1:17 PM in response to jglnaz372by dgtiziano, did you turned off sync on ibooks?
and what message you got? "unable to download item" or unable to download U2 song of innocence booklet?
-
Sep 25, 2014 1:19 PM in response to dgtizianoby jglnaz372,I Followed your steps exactly. I just made sure and my sync was off. I still have the same generic message many have.
THanks.

Sep 25, 2014 1:48 PM in response to dgtizianoby jglnaz372,I Have the iPad air like yourself with 8.0.1. Outside of the pop up and a few apps unstable until they get updated, everything else seems to be working fine.
THanks.
