I Updated my iPad Air 16gb wifi model with iOS 8 yesterday and since then I am facing random reboots with blue screens. Is this a known issue or am I in trouble ?

I had (or maybe still have) this problem too on my iPad Air with iOS 8.0.2. I did a clean install twice (set up as new ipad) and then I restored from a previous backup. It seems like the problem disappeared.

What bothers me more is why it started in the first place. It may be a coincidence, but for me it started when I had installed the Adaptex keyboard. The problem remained even though I uninstalled it so I cannot be sure. It would be interesting to know if anyone else with the blue screen problem also installed a 3rd party keyboard?

    Hi Guys,

Greetings of the festive season. With Diwali around the corner I thought of treating myself with an Ipad Air 128 gb Wifi version. I purchased it last week. It came with ios 7, however after bringing it home and connecting it to the wifi it shortly prompted me that an upgrade to ios 8.0.2 was available and would I want to install it? Of course I did. Thereafter my ipad has been restarting with a brief flicker of blue screen. It restarts after some time of use, approx 2 to 3 hours of use and apparently when I run multiple apps?

I had raised a ticket with Apple Support. They had called me, took some diagnostics. They told me all looks fine.

Then I was told to do a hard reset of the device. It didn't fix the problem.

They had asked me to reset the ipad to factory settings Incase the problem persisted.

I took backup, reset my ipad to factory settings, reinstalled ios 8.0.2 via iTunes and USB cable and restored the backup. No luck. It's still restarting once in a while and this is irritating.

I Googled this problem and apparently many have faced this problem, and I landed here.

So would replacing the unit help ? By the looks of it , it won't. Are all IPAD air users facing this problem ?

I know a lot of people that are experiencing it with their iPad Air and/or iPhone 5s... maybe it has something to do with the A7 chip and ios 8... however, don't know if everyone is experiencing it....

Either ways I am waiting for ios 8.1, which is around the corner, before I approach apple for a replacement of any sort...

I had similar issue with my iPad Air till last Friday and i restored it with Recover mode and working fine till now with out reboots from Friday.

Note : After recovery mode is completed do not restore your back up reinstall/Register everything as a New product will works fine.

To put your device into recovery mode, follow these steps:

    1. Turn off your device and leave it off.
    2. Plug in your device's USB cable to a computer with iTunes.
    3. Hold down the Home button on your device as you connect the USB cable. Keep holding down the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen.

When your device is connected, iTunes will open. You'll see a message saying that iTunes has detected an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch in recovery mode.

After recovery mode is completed do not restore your back up reinstall everything as if new.

    Doing this will work.

I have the same problem after updating to iOS 8 with my iPad air. I went to apple store last week, they check the diagnosis and then replace a new one for me. After I got the new one (it was on iOS 7.1.2), I updated to iOS 8.0.2. set it as new, just login my apple id and download all the apps again. However same issues happende again, keep restarting with a blue screen... What I suggest is if your iPad still in warranty, go to apple store get a replacement, and stay in iOS 7.1.2, do not update utill apple fix this bug!

Oh man , your replaced ipad too ? What a killer.  I will try once and give it a try.

I did factory reset, but restored backup. I will try this time without. ....

I Just sent your video link through to Apple via the feedback link I provided earlier. Maybe now that they can see it they may be able to fix it.

GGood to see Apple on top of the situation!! As I was writing this had amother blue screen reboot.... Anyway appreciate all the remedies to help , but none have worked. Never have I been so frustrated with a computing device before... Nice work with the you tube video, hopefully Apple aren't asleep at the wheel to much longer!!!! certainly wouldn't put money on it......
