Yes, here is the advice: In the future, if you need to download a song, get it from Amazon Digital Music. That way there is no chance of triggering any Apple ID restrictions or ruining any friendships.

"Your Apple ID can have up to 10 devices and computers (combined) associated with it. Each computer must also be authorized using the same Apple ID. Once a device or computer is associated with your Apple ID, you cannot associate that device or computer with another Apple ID for 90 days."
You're okay as long as you are not trying to download something you have already downloaded. If you are doing that then you have to wait 90 days. I suspect it is because the music distributors do not want "let's log into each others accounts and download our music to each others computers" parties.
