Frequently Visited Websites

How can I remove Frequently Visited Websites from showing up on the bottom of the page when I open Safari on my iPad after installing iOS 8?

You accidentally marked this as solved.


Anyway, I found that both my devices were showing the "frequently visited" websites. You can do one of 2 things: Hold your finger on each "icon" and it will let you delete it.



Now, I found a way that's kept those websites from coming back when I visit them.


Go to Settings>Safari>Clear history and website data.


So far, that's worked for me. I haven't had to do anything else.

What are your settings?


Make sure you're not in Private Browsing Mode.


Reboot your device, by holding the TOP button down (do NOT hold the HOME button)


until it says "slide to power off" and then slide it to power off. (Keep holding down the TOP button...until you see the Apple...then release and it will reboot.


Then try visiting those sites a few times and see how it goes.

To quickly see your favorite and frequently visited sites, tap the Search field to see the favorites , and scroll down to see frequently visited sites.
