My Mac does not allow me to re-add my Epson 9400Fax printer. I get Error:-30886. I have re-downloaded driver software and reset the printing system. What to do?

Is the Espon turned on?
Try adding in a new User and see if that works.
CREATE A NEW USER
Go to System Preferences --> Create a New User in Users & Groups (Accounts. in SL) Switch to the New User by logging out under the Apple in the Menu Bar.
Open System Preferences and try adding your printer.
If yes, then the problem is with your base files.
If no, then the problem is in your User's folder.
Thank you for your suggestion. I never used it, however. I eventually learned that the above error message refers to a communication fault. So I uninstalled my newly downloded printer driver, and then re-downloaded it from Epson. The printer was on and USB-connected the whole time.
