Sep 27, 2014 6:55 PM in response to sbax1by sbax1,Just tried this and it worked;
1) BACKUP the ipad (i did to both icloud and PC) - my wifi worked fine, it was cellular that was broken.
2) Make sure you have 8.0.2 installed
3) Settings --> General --> Reset --> Subscriber Services - then hit "Reprovision Account".
4) Settings --> General --> Reset --> Erase All Content and Settings. Say OK and good night.
5) As the system resets, restarts enter all of your info.

Sep 28, 2014 8:20 AM in response to Okbartby AmeliaIPad2,I would contact ATT to reset your cellular account password. I seems like ever since I reset my account password, my cellular connection has stayed solid with no problems. This is just a guess, but maybe the upgrade to 8.0 corrupted our account password which made our cellular service inactive. Whatever, it worked for me.

Sep 28, 2014 8:47 AM in response to AmeliaIPad2by BC_Football_Ref,SAdly Rogers Communications does not have usernames and passwords so that rules out that guessing game. Apple caused this problem Apple can fix it. I am not dumping the problem on the cellular providers to fix. Also, i am leary to take technical advice from someone online to reset this or delete that. Dont know who you are or what your expertise is.
APple needs to fix this or i drop the iPad and the iPhone and i buy a Surface and a Nokia and welcome Microsoft and the LA Clippers into my family!

Sep 28, 2014 8:59 AM in response to adriennefromwashingtonby Solentandgosport,I have the same problem no network after loading 8.02 but a reset restores it but as soon as it Iose the network in lower signal area it won't even search for it and the carrier option on the settings menu disappears. I like everyone else am extremely annoyed and when I have to buy a replacement tablet it won't be an apple unless they are severely discounted for those of us that have had this trouble.

Sep 28, 2014 10:38 AM in response to BC_Football_Refby lilbuba, nicely put and I agree- although I have an iPhone, iPad, I MacAir and IMac, I am getting pretty fed up with bugs every time there is a new system upgrade. Apple better get a fix out there that works to correct all the bugs.

Sep 28, 2014 12:15 PM in response to adriennefromwashingtonby rachel296,In the off chance this helps someone - when I saw "NO Service" on my iPad 2 all I had to do was hit "Settings" "iCloud." When I did that a tab called "Cellular Search" came up for only a moment under the "Cellular Data" tab while it searched for my ATT settings. I was fast enough to click it and changed the setting off Automatic. That was a couple of hours ago and no problem yet - knock on wood.

Sep 28, 2014 2:16 PM in response to BC_Football_Refby regalturner, with respect, we are all just amateurs trying to add whatever we can to the discussion to help each other get over a problem - one you correctly identify as one caused by Apple, and one they really will have to address. BUT, if you are gong to be dismissive of the comments on this sort of a site, then you probably should save your breath and just wait until Apple gets the thumb out of their butt.

Sep 28, 2014 2:58 PM in response to regalturnerby BC_Football_Ref,my comments are not to dismiss people's suggestions, but more to caution people that some suggested corrections could be more dangereous to your iPad than the current problem. Having experienced a previous problem years ago on another site, one contributor, for whatever reason, posted a recommended fixed that had subscribers reformat their PCs back to factory default erasing all their data. Not nice... So with all due respect, advice sometimes is best left to experts.

Sep 28, 2014 3:46 PM in response to BC_Football_Refby AmeliaIPad2,I would never suggest that someone actually reset their iPad. We all know what that will do and its a pain. Also, with all due respect, I am an expert with over 17 years experience in microcomputers and networks. That is why my cellular service works today. Yes, Apple did cause this, but I know how to troubleshoot myself out of most computer related situations.
By the way, after I reset my cellular password and regained my service, I upgraded again from 8.0 to 8.02 and my cellular service still works. It has been my experience that most, not all, updates can cause some sort of corruption. It happens with most computer related systems all the time, hence the constant patches.

Sep 28, 2014 4:28 PM in response to bhewettby Jorge A. Narvaez,I Have the exact same problem. I left Apple feedback describing all the issues which have cropped up since I upgraded to iOS 8. I truly regret upgrading.

Sep 28, 2014 4:42 PM in response to AmeliaIPad2by BC_Football_Ref,I think we are all trying to be helpful, just don't want someone, who is frustrated with this trouble, to do something that makes matters worse. In the case of resetting cellular passwords, that is not an option to some providers as there is no cellular password to reset.
what is really annoying is how little Apple has accepted or acknowledged this problem. No statement, no apology, nothing.... Poor corporate service...

Sep 28, 2014 4:48 PM in response to adriennefromwashingtonby icanton,After the update 8.02 loses my ipad in 24h one times the connection to the provider (Swisscom). Always about 9 p.m. CET. A soft-reset helps again.
A new joke from Apple :-(

Sep 28, 2014 4:50 PM in response to BC_Football_Refby lilbuba,It is true- I can't believe that Apple has not acknowledged this problem. Very poor corporate service.

Sep 29, 2014 4:50 AM in response to adriennefromwashingtonby Shenderson8,In deference to the "experts:, my ipad2 has worked just swell since I installed the new iCloud Drive, backed up to that drive and did a full reset/reinstall form that cloud. Good luck to everyone. I look forward to our future adventures together as a result of Apple's incompetencies.
