Q: Cant update iPad mini to iOS8

Hello

I Have an ipad mini with 7.1.2 installed.

i Am trying to install ios 8 via an OTA update (no chance to use itunes)

i press the downkoad button. Firmware is downloaded and is being prepared.. Success. Ipad restars.

i See a big apple with p progress line under it. Its running.

then ipad restars again .. And i get again 7.1.2 ! Whats that? I tried 2 more times to update ot the same way, but everything repeated..

help!

I tried to update again. Just from settings -general - update. And it worked. My ipad mini is now with ios8.

i Think the trouble was with apple servers too busy, now its ok

I have similar issue, see this thread please:

Or, just wait for v. 8.1. I've just updated and do not see much improvement over 7.1.

unfortunally, i have no chance to use itunes. my only method is OTA update. And thats no good. Maybe its an apple's server problem, dunno I tried in on ipad mini 1gen. I also have 5s but im afraid it will be f****ed up too

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430

Ask _any_ of your friends with a PC or Mac to install iTunes temporary. Or visit any good computer store/lab, not necessarily Apple's. They will be able to recover your iPad.
