Does the health kit app in ios 6 work with the iphone 5? I set up starting points. The motion is turned on in and it does not record steps.

The iPhone 5 does not have the M7 Motion Sensor co-processor. It will not record steps.
The iPhone 5S has a motion co-processor as do the iPhone 6 & 6 Plus.
