Q: "This app is no longer shared with you" message in Family Sharing

My daughter installed Minecraft PE through Family Sharing.  When she tries to open it, she gets a warning message "This app is no longer shared with you. To use it, you must buy it from the App Store."

When she views it in the app store, it tells her she can download it for free because a family member has already purchased it.  So she downloads it, and the cycle continues.

Any idea how to exit this loop?

Spending 5 hours with Apple support didn't solve the issue. However, I accidentally stumbled upon the solution to this problem.

I assume you probably bought additional space on the cloud? For the other family member, you will need to also purchase additional space. Once you purchase additional space with their apple ID, all the apps will work.

My wife is now a happy camper as she has her apps back

No - this isn't it. All 5 of my iCloud accounts on this family share have available space under the 5 gigs normally provided. I've also not purchased space. I've only got iTunes match on them as that is not shared among the group.

In my case, the user getting the error already had extra space in iCloud, whereas the family organizer didn't - the exact opposite of your case.

I don't think space on iCloud has anything to do with this issue.

We have a slightly different version of this problem.  I'm halfway through reading a shared book my wife bought on her ID before sharing enabled (my account is now prime for sharing).   FS did allow access for a few days but now won't.  Any new ideas.

Don't count it out... log in and look how much space they are using.

Back up/restore as suggested above by someone seems to have made a fix - now to see if it lasts!

Backup/restore didn't work for my wife's... did everything above and spent 5 hours on the phone with apple support.

Like I said, the only thing that worked for her's was up her iCloud from 5g to 20g, then it worked.

    Hello,

I stop this F...... Family Sharing program deleting all Family membres from the list and re-install the apps that are not working.

    Problem solved !

Waiting for an Apple solution !

I'm not sure if anyone fixed this but I've had this problem and I found that if you download an app like Find Friends and give the approval to purchase then all the other apps work

it seems as though the purchase kicks it into life...

    Hope this helps

I had the same issue with a shared app saying it was no longer shared. I did basically the same thing:

    1. Deleted the App from my phone.

    2. Went to iTunes & App Store in settings

    3. Signed out of my iTunes account and logged in with the "organizer" (person who bought and shared the app) Apple ID.

    4. Went to the App Store on my phone and downloaded the shared App again.

    5. Went back to iTunes & App Store in settings and signed back in with my Apple ID.

Now the shared app works again. I hope Apple finds a better solution soon, but this worked for me.

I had the same problem with my wife's iPhone 5S. I am the organizer of the Family Share. The problem went away by simply connecting (with cable) my wife's iPhone to iTunes (to take backup) on her Mac where she uses my Apple ID with iTunes account.

We have the same issue with my wife's iPad. She does not have a computer with iTunes. What might be the resolution?

Cannot be sure, but I would try to connect with cable to iTunes to Organiser account on whichever computer.

The same exact thing is happening to me. I am sharing with my bf. I downloaded TV shows, music and apps. Only the music works for me. All others say that they are no longer shared and to buy in the store. Tried to download Clash of Clans from shared, wouldn't work. Bought it from the store and it still said the same message. Have emailed Apple, will see what they respond.
