Please help student... apple BT KB

hello,

i am wondering if ive made the wrong decision.
this is the first apple product i have ever regretting purchasing.

i have a very erratic wireless keyboard.
i had a hard time pairing it in the first place, and typing this message has taken me over an hour.
i returned my bluetooth usb key (i now own a kensington v 2.0)
i have even exchanged the keyboard with apple.

it is constantly disconnecting... it will just stop working, and some time after it will say "connection lost". Right after the image is displayed the keyboard will work. Occasionally it will repeat a character again and again. Ive slowed down .

I have tried everything I can think of.
Can someone please tell me whether to give up hope and go back to wired,
or help me trouble shoot?

The weird thing is my BT Mighty mouse runs fine, I never have a problem with it.

This is extremely frustrating, and being a student I need a proper working keyboard!!
