Siri will not work when I hold down home button. Siri is turned on, my home button works, and so does my mic. This is not new to ios 8. I have tried all of the resetting methods and nothing works. Help would be appreciated

IIIaass your response did not help. I tried all your recommendations. When I hold down the home button nothing happens. Siri never comes up. I have tried to hard restart, I made sure Siri is turned on, correct language is on, I have the settings to show Siri is on but nothing happens , no mic, no voice no nothing when I hold down the home button . Has this happened to anyone else, I miss Siri
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
