How do i fix my phone in recovery mode?

So this iOS8 software was just released about a day ago in my country, and i did download the software update on my phone. Throughout the download, i plugged in my iphone5s to my macbook and itunes just popped out saying that a software update is available, and whether if i want to download it. So i clicked download and update and suddenly my phone was detected on recovery mode on itunes and the only option left is to restore and download software update. How do i get through this? I clicked restore bcause thats the only option i had, so now im very worried if my all my data would be missing. What do i do now?
