Sep 21, 2014 8:57 PM in response to DMonroyby Bazzsniper,I Wish I did some research into the new update ( iOS 8 )fool I am. I've always been impressed with my iPad 3 ,used it with pride of ownership ,now with this new update I rather use my old xsperia p android phone which allows me to out put all my vids too my tv no prob seems too work faster than my pad as well lol ,I have same issue ,get too see the mirrored pic on my big screen alls well for one second then blank .and I can also see one of the other issues as I'm typing out this message my batts dropped 4% not good ,I hope they sort these issues out if not I'm not loyal too any brand as I see these devices as a tool if not up to the gob I change it for something better .since Steve jobbs died I think Apple have lost there edge copying everyone else nothing new rushing out bad soft ware not good I really hope to get this hdmi sorted as like u I love my films downloads its a massive pain .

if you full screen the vide fist, then connect the hdmi, it will work. Still ***** that we have to do it though
Thank you for the info, i tried it and its working.
I only needed to start the video on my phone, and then i connected the HDMi adaptor after, and i had Everything work fine. This is the only solution up to now until apple makes an update.

Have the same problem here, after updating to ios 8 on my ipad2 ,cant connect to a big screen anymore, just says" acsessory is not supported" worked perfectly before the update....complained to apple about it,hopefully they' ll fix it soon. We got so cross with them as we only got the hdmi adapter a week ago and were so delighted to look at the big screen with the kids

Sep 22, 2014 9:20 PM in response to aniriniby Maxxwelle,Just chatted with Apple tech support about this issue. They are supposedly working on it and should have it resolved shortly.
Just hope they were truthful and not just blowing me off. I guess we will see what happens.

Sep 23, 2014 1:59 PM in response to Taildragger-J3by Jodee1982,SAme thing happened to me! I called Apple support who said they had no note of the problem. All they could find was a couple of discussion threads. Got me to do a hard reset but that never worked so I have an appointment at the genius bar on Monday. eont think they'll be able to do anything but I'll go anyway.

Sep 24, 2014 1:36 AM in response to Taildragger-J3by brownox,Same problem here.
I have an iPhone 4s which worked great with the HDMI adapter.
I have read a lot of articles saying how iOS 8 is crashing iPhone 4s, but I didn't have any problems and was enjoying the new OS just fine.
Then I tried to play a movie and had the "incompatable with this device" message.
I immediately reverted back to iOS 7.
I followed the instructions listed below in the link. You may be able to do it too if it's not too late.
Unfortunately, I backed up my iPhone 4s while I had iOS 8 installed, and wasn't able to restore my iPhone 4s with the backup.
iCloud info like contacts and calendar was still intact though, thank goodness.
It was a lot of work to get everything working again, as I use two step authentication on my accounts.
I am kind of glad it happened though, it gave me an opportunity to clean house on the iPhone.
I hope apple fixes this problem pronto, I did like some of the new features on iOS 8, but I need to be able to show my movies off my iPhone.
Here is the link to revert to iOS 7. I hope its not too late for you if the HDMI adapter compatibility is as important to you as it is to me.

Sep 24, 2014 3:00 PM in response to Taildragger-J3by Jodee1982,HHas anyone tried the new iOS 8.0.1 update? does it fix the HDMI problem? Don't want to do it before I go to the Apple Genius Bar appointment if I'm gonna end up reverting to iOS 7 anyway. Thanks :-)

Sep 24, 2014 3:22 PM in response to Taildragger-J3by Casper7003,Just appear to have made the same school boy error, upgraded ipad2 and nowt works with any accessory. HDMI or camera kit, which is useful with a holiday looming, so no transferring photos! Thanks Apple!
Have sent an iOS 8 feedback snottogram as suggested by realtwang. Lets see how long it takes to fix, otherwise there's going to be lots of reports of rolling back!
