Verification Failed.

Hi, I changed my AppleID to my new email adress, but I can't logout with my iCloud on my iPhone 5. Once I want to logout it asks me for my password (for the old email adress) but it continues to fail. '''Verification Failed, there was an error connecting to iCloud. Any ideas how I can fix this? I already tried reverted the AppleID back to the old email adress. But it doesn't seem to work.

Check my post a few up, I ran into the same issue (requesting but rejecting password)...you need to fix the date & time. By turning on "Settings - General - Date & Time - Set Automatically" it made the date/time current and connected successfully.

This did the job, nothing else mentioned on here worked. (iPhone 6 with 9.0)

So the date and time was set to auto but was setting itself a month prior and 6 hours behind. I turned off 24 hours then manually corrected the time and date, then turned back on auto and it kicked in. It then lets me log out of the iCloud and wipe the phone, Boom!

ive tried but it comes up with need sign out "find my iphone" i goto sign out but needs to login appleid have reset the pass and verify acc, put pass in comes up with error. i am currently uploading itunes to 9.2.3

iPad 2 tried to restore it got stuck now , cannot log into iCloud and cannot reset , every time enter my correct Apple ID I got the message verification failed

Guys I found out why mine didnt work its becuz mine had the date 2004 instead of 2016 so then I switched it to the correct date and it worked tell me if ur date was also wrong

had same issue and fixed it by allowing mobile data usage for settings. Pretty simple but frustrating the error message wasn't snart enough to identify this simple fix!!

i know this is an old post, but I found it looking for a solution to the same problem and I found one! Reset your network setting like someone had suggested. Then reboot your phone. Voila!

I had this issue after iOS 10 update on my iPad and after searching the web and installing iCloud on my pc to find out how to fix my issue . . . final came across this discussion and your very simple and straight forward intructions.

------SOLUTION----

Check if you're connected to Wi-Fi or 4G LTE.

If you're connected to Wi-Fi, it should work.

If you don't have Wi-Fi, you need to go to your Settings>Cellular>scroll down to "Settling" and hit the white button so it turns green and then try again. It should work.

Go to www.icloud.com and sign into cloud using your apple id.if you can't reset or remove the icloud drive,you have to go to find my mobile using your pc.and you have to select your iphone device.then erase your iphone's data using find my iphone.create a new apple id.and add the new apple id to your iphone and use it as a new device.

Me too!!:( I've been resetting my iPhone 5 iOS 10 and it still show the error messages,and it makes me mad,really mad
