Downloading Music from IPod to ITunes

I recently bought a Macbook and connected a friend's IPod so I could download songs from the IPod to my library. It's not working! I tried selecting the whole IPod playlist and dragging into the ITunes library, but it just doesn't work. I've tried with several other IPods and the same problem occured! Help!!!

iTunes and the iPod are a 1 way street - Mac to iPod. This is to reduce or make music piracy more difficult. Are the tunes yours or your friends?

There is a new feature in iTunes 7.0 which will allow you to transfer purchases from your iPod to your Mac. It is located in the File Menu. Once the purchases are on your Mac you will have to authorize the Mac to play them.

There are other programs which will allow you to transfer to the Mac from the iPod -- Senuti and PodWorks are 2 of them.
