Q: iphone 6 mic not working

Hey only thing you need to do is to take off the sticker next to the rear camera lol

the sticker is on the microphone lol

I had the same issue when using the speakerphone only, my voice sounded muffled to the listener. Discovered that the mic used during speakerphone is on the back of the phone, near the flash. Confirmed this by placing a call to my house phone and rubbing a finger over the mic areas to determine which one was active. Be mindful that some not all other sound recording functions use the other other mic at the bottom of the phone and this may mislead when trying to test sound recording. Then inspected the mic and saw that a previously applied and since removed skin (a laminate sticker) had left behind a small circle glued over my mic. I should have removed that small sticker from the skin before its installation. Since removed the "plug" and gently cleaned the mic surface, all works well. Point being, check this mic area for blockages or any cases that might also obstructing the mic. Good luck all.

You Might Have an iphone film backside near to the camera ! check there is a lil hole beside the camera .. if there is any film there or you have been covered that by anything then immediately take off that !! it works guys !! cheers..

i keep being told to speak into the phone properly till I'm virtually eating the thing. Brand new iPhone 6. I end up with earphones in most of the time and always told it sounds ten times better. One of the 2 most fundamental parts of the phone is badly flawed. Apple you called it iPhone for a reason it's a PHONE. You gotta talk into the thing you know. Sort it out ‼️ 

Hi, I have a iphone 5 but I managed to solve the issue. You should check your Mic where the are multiple little holes on the bottom of your phone. Mine got stuffed with dust. If you can clean it with a needle. That would work much better

Hi, I've suddenly started having this problem, and I've had my phone since November. I'm not having the problem when it comes to calls, but when I'm using the front-facing camera to live stream. All covers and stickers are removed, (except for my phone's case.)

i am not sure why, but my microphone doesn't work correctly. when I record sound using snapchat or voice memos it works fine, but when I am trying to audio message or facetime someone, it doesn't work properly. please help me

I already tried resetting my phone. if someone knows the solution. help me

This was VERY helpful and actually worked for me!  Thanks so much!  After turning off Siri and everything else you suggested, I went back and turned Siri back on and enabled phone noise cancellation again.  Now I am able to dictate again and use the microphone.  Whew!  The only thing I did differently was to select speakerphone, back out and then go back into settings and put the "call audio routing" back to automatic.  You are a life saver!

I was having this issue as well so I tried turning it off and back on.  The problem is fixed

I bought mine 5 days ago, and recently realize that when i record with the rear camera doesnt sound nothing, but  and front camera or facetime everything works good, I though it was a problem I even went to an apple authorized service and they didn't know that moment , so I took my iphone and came home, I read this and realize that the problem was that Still with the original plastic covers on, now everything works good, Thanks

ive had this problem for a white now, for me IT was more like a windy-sound all the time.... And got sick of IT actually i was on my way to get it fixed.... Then i stumbled on an old friend who have had the same problem... And told me what he did to fix it.

I used a toothpick and turned it around in Circles inside the egdes of the hole, the i used My lungs to suck whatever it was blocking the sound out from there.... After that both videorecording and skypevideocalls + FaceTime Callas starten spelning for me.

Thank you! I had just assumed that the mic was down by the ports and it didn't cross my mind that the out-of-the-box plastic was obstructing the call.
