Q: Does iTunes macth work with family share

I have iTunes match on my primary account but if I try to set up family sharing on my children's devices I seem to loose the iTunes stuff.  If I try to turn on iTunes match on their devices it wants me to sign up and pay for it again which would not do any good because they don't have individual iTunes libraries.

Since there is no mention specifically of iTunes Match (http://www.apple.com/icloud/family-sharing/), and it is a very different service than those involved in Family Share, I would assume it is not included. iTunes purchased music is, however.

    via Family purchases and payments

"With Family Sharing, one adult in the family—the family organizer—agrees to pay for any iTunes, iBooks, and App Store purchases that other family members initiate while they're part of the family group. This also includes ongoing subscription purchases initiated by family members, such as iCloud storage, iTunes Match, and Newsstand subscriptions."

Even though I found that, I cannot get iTunes match to activate on any other added account.

The way that I read that article, if a family member "subscribes" to iTunes match, the organizer will be billed for the subscription.  Not that it is "shared" between individuals.

Agreed, I read the same information and was assuming that the iTunes Match would look just as it did when we were just using one account.  i.e. 4 seperate accounts in my case merged into one view for easy browsing & downloading if desired.

The current method of having to click on itunes app, then purchased, then the name of the family member, then the download button is too long.  Currently once you hit download on one item it bounces you back out and you have to start again for the next one.  And, then in future I will have to have razor sharp memory to remember who originally bought the song that I now want to download......

    Not what I was expecting...

This is problematic. The way everyone I know has been handling the iTunes problem is they've used the same Apple ID and password on their family devices. We thought this was over with the Family Sharing. The problem comes because all of our music is in my Match file. I don't even keep it on the computer anymore. So to do this I'd have to download all my music to a computer. Transfer it to the other person's user account. Add iTunes Match subscription to their account, and then upload all that music back up again. All so Apple can make another $24 a year? Ugh.
