Stacks + backboard iOS 8

There are tons of stacks+backboardd diagnostics logs both on iPhone and iPad till i update to iOS 8. Maybe this is almost the time to make the ability to remove this garbage without synchronization with iTunes. Not only stacks+backboardd, but every diagnostic log?👿😮😟😢 i don't want to make jailbrake to have access to this trashed files.

As simple as this sounds, I to have had the same on-going error messages (Stacks+backboard), and (SELD) in the Diagnostic log. This was even present on the initial device activation before any apps, contacts, or email accounts were added. I did a OTA update to 8.0.2, hard reset the device and the same error messages in the log continued. Opened up a ticket with Apple, got to 2nd level support before being asked to restore the device before the they would continue. So I restored the device from scratch (not from a back-up) and setup the device as new. At this point I tried to isolate the cause (rouge app, email function etc) so I didn't add my email accounts and checked after each app (7 on device) were installed and the saga continued. The same 2 error messages in the diagnostic log listed above. Through out the day these same two error messages continue and in some cases my device had 30-40 entries. Called Apple back, got to another level (1 short of Engineering), upload diagnostic log, sent them a zip file of the device logs etc. At this point the advisor insisted that I try to "Reset all settings"..............Really, after a full blown restore etc............. Did this, device rebooted, all apps still present and in use, no error messages since? Have been monitoring for a day or two now with nothing else.....If it surfaces I will post back and contact Apple again but this seems to have resolved the issue and was quite surprised..............No explanation..............Give this a look, hopefully you'll have the same success that worked for me.

You are right, I did the restore yesterday and since then 4 instances of stacks+backbboard and i had my phone off overnight, all of them have the same problem: Stackshot trace buffer size too small, trying again with 524288. Which is draining the battery from 84%-81% with just the 20 minute ride into work.

Best bet is to downgrade to iOS 7.X and wait for 8.1 update?

I got a lot of this too on my 6 Plus and I'm on 8.0.2. I ended up doing a factory restore yesterday but I know that won't fix the stacks+backboardd issue. I also factory reset because sometimes the accelerometer just freezes and won't go into landscape or just get stuck. Rebooting does fix that issue but it happened again so I had to restore.

I hope 8.1 will fix this issue because when I had 8.0 the battery life was GREAT, had 17 hours of usage and 2 days on standby but with 8.0.2 I'm not getting anything near that. I was thinking of downgrading back to 8.0 but not sure.

Jinxed................................Well you were right......................Mine errors were free and clear , then came back. However, I've been able to isolate what is generating the error unless its merely a consequence? Everything was fine until I launched Safari................ After using, and closing I checked a short time later with no other use of the device between this time..........and Shazam...............error message was back............checked again several hours later, and multiple entries of the same............Hopefully its related to the browser process? I'll be calling Apple back today to inform them as such.........Will post again after speaking with them.

I have been reading lots of comments on forums and hopefully Apple comes with a discreet solution for this.

Other than stacks+backboard errors, this ips panick error drove me nuts since last iOS update (8.4.1)

I have been using my iPhone 5 for almost 2.5 years and did not know no such thing as random reboots or this kind of errors.

Within the day, sometimes the phone just turned off and did not open from time to time. Also the battery levels showed randomly changing , which I never had never seen before.

What concerns me, some of the users said they had similar problems even if they changed the battery too.

Legally, I cannot go back to previous IOS versions, just did the restore to factory settings and that made the frequency of the problem decrease , but did not end it.

Two more things I could think of , I went Back to a backup from 2 years ago ( but still using 8.4.1) or update to iOS 9 ( hopefully they take care of

The problem, if that is software related)

I really want to know if this is software or hardware or a combination of both related.

Please Apple, come with a clear explanation; I am really missing the old days without errors and people not talking about similar problems to be taken care of.
