Q: ios 8 battery drain issue and Bluetooth issues

My battery drains very fast (100% to zero in about 4 hours with minimal usage), started happening right after I upgraded to iOS 8. Issue started happening both on my iPhone 5S and on my iPad Air after iOS 8 upgrade.

I am also having bluetooth issues on my iPhone 5S, the bluetooth sync in my car behaves very weirdly after I link it up with my phone. It tries to call one of my contacts and then hangs up. It goes in this loop for ever.

Can someone help ??

I am having almost the same issue! Music works fine but as soon as it connects bluetooth in my car, the car starts to ring as if an incoming call was there. Nothing showing on the phone about it. And it always shows the same number! I hit answer and it takes a few seconds to hang up.

It was all working fine before the iOS 8 update.

Apple even shipped me a new phone today and the new iPhone 5 I got is doing the same thing.

My wife has iPhone 5c and it has no issues connecting to my car or making and recieving phone calls.

    Apple PLEASE HELP!!!

And I have tried everything I could think of

    For battery issue:

soft reset, hard reset, turning off location services, reducing brightness of screen, not looking for wi-fi etc...

    For Bluetooth issues:

Deleting the bluetooth link and Re-establishing the bluetooth link, restarting the car system, hard and soft reset of phone

Nothing works... definitely an iOS 8 issue....

I tried turning handoff off and it still didn't work.

However I did a complete reset and wiped the phone, the problem did not return! Until I did a restore from my backup on iTunes!

So that tells me there is a problem with the latest iTunes backup!!

    still doesn't help me!

My wife and I both have iPhone 5 units and since the upgrade the batteries are draining incredibly fast. My phone was 100% charged at 0800 this morning and it's now 1345 and I'm at 29% and dropping fast. I've 'Reset Settings' and turned a bunch of background stuff off, etc., etc. This is unacceptable. I can't use my phone without charging it constantly. I have two email push services (Gmail and iCould) and have been just normal iMessage texting. No heavy usage and no phone calls. This needs to be fixed!!

Turning off handoff did not help, battery is still draining.

More issues after upgrade, just regular music playback on the phone does not work. Tried playing music several times, the music keeps cutting in and out (seems to jump between iPhone and iPhone speakers)...

    This iOS release is terrible...

One more, Find my iPhone app does not save my login credentials... have to enter my password every time I open the app....

Is anyone at Apple even looking at these issues ??

There is no easy answer here. Pathetic battery life (less than 4 hours on a complete charge), and apps that now are broken. 8.1 please!

I am having the same problem with iPhone 5. I had battery drain problems with iOS 7 when they did an update and ios 8 made it worse. Tried everything possible turning stuff off but this iOS 8 I am now charging phone at least 3 times a day. I have literally tried everything and battery is like a timer just clicking down. One would thin since apple admited a problem with battery drain issues this would have fixed it but it made it worse. Great job Apple. I know it is not my battery because the updates of iOS changed it instantly to drain and iOS 8 made it worse.

This is unbelievable they know they have a battery drain problem and put out an update that makes it worse. Forgot this. My iPhone 5 uae to **** down at around 47% or so and I had to plug it in. Now ios 8 it did it at around 71% to me the other day. Just typing this with the brightness turned off and down I just lost over 20% battery life.

LIke I said I tried a restor, a complete wipe of the phone and backed it up and restored it, background app refresh off, locations services off, notifications off, and whAt else is there to do???? i am glad I got portable batteries to charge me back up.

Apple please get this fixed and stop creating problems you know you have and stop making them worse. Maybe they should let users test the new iOS updates along with developers because I feel developers are just testimg their application to see if it works. Let the users report big because obviously develpers are not.

Get it together apple. Now as I end this I lost 30% and going to get a battery pack.
