Sep 22, 2014 12:33 PM in response to radical24by Krakor,What do I lose when I do that reset? Anything major?

Sep 22, 2014 12:49 PM in response to Krakorby radical24,no only your settings so the sounds for incoming messages, your wifi password the very basic things. all your content stays intact. its just the settings that you are going to reset NOT the whole phone.

Sep 22, 2014 1:14 PM in response to raghuseeth1by ElizabethH1021,I'm having the same issue about the battery drain. It takes less than 4 hours to completely drain my battery with very minimal use. I've also noticed it takes longer to fully charge and my 'unofficial' apple chargers no longer work. I've tried everything to minimize battery usage: soft reset, hard reset, turning off location services, reducing brightness of screen, not looking for wi-fi, handoff off - I've even uninstalled the app that was the highest percentage of battery usage and nothing works.
I hate that the solution to a draining battery is NOT using certain features of the phone - afterall, that's the point of having an iPhone, right? Very frustrated.

Sep 22, 2014 1:48 PM in response to ElizabethH1021by slpomeroy,Same issues here. I can watch my phone battery drain once I unplug it. All apps quit out. Restarted device. Reset network settings. All the same. Even more curious is how my phone can drop to 1% and sit there for a while. Then when plugging in I am given inconsistent battery percentages.
iPhone 5, iOS8
cheers

Sep 22, 2014 2:23 PM in response to slpomeroyby GarciaSheffield,I thought it was just me but my battery life is shorter now with IOS 8 and new IPhone 6.
Please fix this soon!

Sep 22, 2014 2:26 PM in response to GarciaSheffieldby applegeek010,I'm having the same problem with my new iPhone 6. iOS 8 seemed to be fine on my iPhone 5S before I got the 6 on launch day. Definitely needs to be fixed. I could take my phone off at 9, leave work at 6:30 and still have a battery life of 80% or greater. First day back at work today, same hours, same setting, same usage and my battery is currently at 44% with an hour left at work. Unacceptable. Need to get it fixed.

Sep 22, 2014 3:20 PM in response to raghuseeth1by RMenke,Same battery issue, no trouble with bluetouth. I am recharging my phone continuously now. Using an external usb battery for on the go.
If I take it out of the charger it is dead in 3-4 hours without location services, background refresh, or using it at all except for calls.
This wasn't a problem before the GM or official release. Been running beta since it was released.
I have an iphone 4s. Has worked without fault until now.

Sep 22, 2014 3:25 PM in response to raghuseeth1by donald bfromnew orleans,I've not noticed any of these issues - great battery life, fast wifi and cellular data download times, all on new iPhone 6 with Verizon. Problems seem to be related to iOS 8 on older phones or to carrier issues.

IPad 2 fast battery drain and slow charge. Also sluggish search on Safari. Locks up intermittently. Tried all the so called solutions but nothing helps. Also have a 5C and had to do a hard reset on it once since ios8. It too appears to be sluggish. Haven't tried bluetooth yet. if there was a way to go back to 7 I would do it in a heartbeat!

Sep 22, 2014 4:48 PM in response to Krakorby shawnllewellyn,Im having the same issues as well as when at home my iPhone 6 while being connected to WIFI slows down my connection drastically over my home network as well as IOS safari. What a shame, I do not understand why they base every operating system off the last but make things worse it should be easier from prier mistakes to fix them!?

Sep 22, 2014 5:09 PM in response to raghuseeth1by JAYBCD,The same Here. Iphone 5. Battery was bad in ios 7 and now is worse.
I have turned off everything. Still have to charge 3 times a day on normal use and 2 times a day on low use.
When I say everything I mean EVERYTHING... even spotlight search. The new battery usage menu is useless.

Sep 22, 2014 5:16 PM in response to raghuseeth1by Fritzy747,I Had the same on one occasion. Looked up what was causing it in the settings usage area and found that siri was the culprit. Had chewed 24% of my battery. More than anything else. I wasn't even using Siri. At some point when I removed my phone from the power source I think the "hey Siri" function continued. Don't know if your using it but might be worth trying. I had to do a reset to get everything back to normal.

Sep 22, 2014 8:10 PM in response to raghuseeth1by Headhunter06,Similar issue with my iPhone 4S. I went through this when iOS 7 first came out, and it took Apple about 2-4 weeks to issue a patch that seemed to sort of fix the issue. I say sort of, because drain in iOS 7 was always higher by a bunch than iOS 6 (at least for me). But that update at least improved things from draining 1% per minute, to allowing me to get a full day of light use. So, I have faith that Apple will soon issue an update that will fix this issue too. Apple engineers do read these forums, and even contacted me last time to install a diagnostic app. Now if only they would also bring back the beloved (and sorely missed) Camera Roll along with the battery fix, I am fairly sure that peace on earth won't be far behind!

Sep 22, 2014 8:26 PM in response to raghuseeth1by alih5289,Hi there,
I, too, have been experiencing battery life issues. I also have been having icloud issues. Occasionally, my messages app would run slow and I decide to close the app (by double tapping home button and a flick). However, as soon as I close my messages app, my phone begins to slow down and erases all my contacts and messages once the app is reopened; they all comeback after 10 minutes or so. And worse, my phone then begins to heat up and the battetry drops like crazy. I might have occasional apps open like snapchat, contacts, and safari. No games, maps, or any tracking-required apps open. I got to this page from an Apple blog forum and I hope me sharing this will get some attention by Apple.
I know this is a bug that Apple needs to address so I'm hoping it gets fixed. But I went to an Apple store anyway to see if they have had people come in with similar software issues. The Genius just said, "Have you checked you background app usage? You could have applications that are taking up a lot of battery that might be causing some of these problems..." (*rolling my eyes*).
edit: I have an iphone 5
