LTE is not working on iPhone 6 plus

i just got the iPhone 6 plus and it seems like it's not connecting to LTE. I only see 4G icon showing even though my daughter's iPhone 5 is displaying LTE on her phone. Is this a carrier issue or the iPhone?

omg! im having the same issue too! with Verizon!

i recently went to israel and was using an israeli sim card. when i came back to america, i put my verizon sim back into my iphone 7 plus ( with ios 11.0.3). the calling and texting was working but not the DATA at all!!!!! was soooo frustrating! i spoke to verizon for hours on the phone! and they transferred me to apple. i tried everything (restarting phone, reset network settings, reset all setting, taking out the sim etc.) they finally said we have to back up the phone to a computer and restore it. we did that! so frustrating because now i must sign back in to all my apps! anyway IT DIDNT HELP!!!! so the next day i went to a verizon store ( maybe the im was physically damaged.) they gave me a new one, and the calling and texting worked, NOT DATA! they tried hta sim in another phone and LTE worked totally fine!

verizon said it must be an apple issue, so i scheduled an apple appointment ( besides the fact i waited 3 hours in the store!!!)

i called my aunt as i was waiting ( she's good with phones and tech). she said go to SETTINGS>CELLULAR>CELLULAR DATA OPTIONS>ENABLE LTE> OFF to try to see, wait a bit and go back to VOICE AND DATA. i waited and a 3G icon showed up at the top of my phone. all of a sudden messages from whatsapp (data was working) were coming in! but only at 3G.

i tried going back to VOICE AND DATA but then the internet would stop. so i just only used 3G.

then i went to the apple store and they said since you're still on warranty well give you a replacement. they did.

last night i updated the phone and restored it and still have the same issue!!!!!! my LTE WONT WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HELP MEEE

Been having the same exact issue with AT&T. This is sooo frustrating.... have talked to all levels of support at AT&T and nobody can fix this. Have reset phone to factory defaults and no help! Since you are having the same problem with Verizon, it is clearly a phone issue. Just wondering if it is a hardware defect or software issue. I have a feeling it is hardware related!

I am glad to hear others are having similar problems!

UPDATE: OK got it fixed. SPOKE TO A VERIZON SENIOR TECH,

Call Verizon and ask them to "Re-provision your account", and to make sure HD voice is enabled.

while your phone is on. Leave it on for about 30 minutes, depends how busy they are.

Turn off LTE.

Reset Network Setting.

It will reboot on it's own.

reboot again with power and home button..

go the Settings->Cellular->Enable LTE and select voice & data.

wait 5 minutes and reboot.

now lte work for me

GOOD NEWS!!!

Thanks for all your reply, first of all. I went to AT&T and they checked my account and the tech said everything is fine and I should be receiving LTE signal. He thinks that there is something wrong with the phone and suggested that I should go back to Apple. Before I left, he changed my SIM card just to make sure there's nothing wrong on their side. After changing, same issue I could not connect to LTE, only 4G. We also tried network reset after changing SIM card. I made appointment to Apple and have to come back home because my appointment time is 3 more hours. As soon as I came home, I noticed that LTE is finally working. I did a speed test and indeed I was getting LTE speed 20Mbps down. I canceled my appointment at Apple store because my phone is perfectly working now.

So, the thing that fixed my phone is by changing the SIM card and do a network reset on your phone. Wait for a few minutes and the LTE signal will turn on. Make sure you're in an area that can access LTE signal.

It's most likely a carrier issue.

I had the same problem. Upgraded from a 4s to a 6 and got a new SIM card. Try resetting the network settings under Settings->General->Reset; it will restart automatically. If you don't have LTE a few minutes after it restarts, call your provider. I have AT&T; they had to send a network reset from their end to get LTE to connect. (Be patient, but firm with them. They had a whole checklist of things they had to go through before they would try the reset, but IT WORKED.)

I had this same issue with AT&T. I upgraded from an iPhone 4S to the new iPhone 6 and it would only connect to 4G, not LTE. Additionally, the data connection would often drop out entirely, which could be remedied by cycling airplane mode. I tried resetting network settings and rebooting the phone several times, but nothing helped.

Swapping the SIM card fixed the issue on my phone. I got a new SIM from an AT&T retail store. I spent TWO HOURS in online tech support chat with an AT&T representative before they finally agreed to let me swap SIMs. I powered off the phone, put in the new SIM, powered it on, and I immediately had LTE connectivity.

No, I had it escalated to the network team in Texas and have been on the phone with them -- they are starting to hear that this is a known problem and more than likely it's not a "phone" problem, but a problem on their end (since numerous customers are starting to report this problem )

I'm still stuck on 3G -- I do have the number to their network guy

I tried your sequence and it didn't work for me BUT I didn't know about Verizon having to re-send the LTE setup files to my phone

Yes, you have to have the phone on, the key is keeping the phone on for 30 minutes while they send it. Their systems are backed up.

After 30 minutes, that, reset networking only, it will re-boot, and then to setting, turn on LTE and select voice & date, did my brother's today and it worked. Everyone i spoke to did and it worked.

Ask them to "provision" your account. that should do it. that sends all your features. If it don't work, there backed up again.

Also make sure they see you iPhone 6 and not your previous phone.
