Preparing iPads using Configurator, WITHOUT updating to iOS 8

Is there a way to do it?

I have iPads and profiles existing within Configurator. I'm now adding more iPads to our school's inventory. I want to prepare them, load my profiles and apps on them, and supervise them, but I do NOT want to update to the new iOS yet.

The only way that I can see to load a profile on them is to uncheck "Supervision". This allows me to select "Never" in the Update iOS field.

This allows me to load the profiles as described in a previous question, without updating. BUT, they won't be supervised.
