Iphone 6 and Ford Sync Bluetooth Does Not Work

Brand new iPhone 6 paired with My Ford Sync in a 2014 Escape.

Bad news, the bluetooth phone features simply do not work. You can initiate a call form the Sync and the phone will dial and connect, but 5 seconds into the call the bluetooth disconnects the phone audio and returns you to your radio or whatever source you were listening to.

The call appears to remain active on the iPhone but you can't access it.

Sure hope Apple or Microsoft/Ford step up to fix this soon it is a real show stopper.

Nothing like in the field beta testing.

Wrong. It is Apple's problem. You are expecting everyone else to update because Apple chose to. Each new phone or update I get causes something to change on how my phone interacts with my 2009 Ford Explorer. I have changed nothing in the truck. I read in one of these forums to try turning off "Handoff" Fixed my problem. Yeah, it's Apple's problem. NOT Ford's.

I had a similar problem with my 2011 Ford Fusion and brand new iPhone 6 received yesterday. I restored my iPhone 5 to my new iPhone 6 when I received it. My iPhone 6 has the same device name as the iPhone 5 did. I was able to pair my iPhone 6 with Sync easily, but Sync would only ring on incoming calls. I could not answer the incoming call or initiate calls through Sync. I was able to correct the problem this morning by:

1) Forgetting This Device (Sync) in the Bluetooth application in the iPhone 6,

2) Deleting All Devices in the Sync Phone Bluetooth menu.

3) Re-pairing the iPhone 6 with Sync.

Apparently the same phone name stored in Sync from the iPhone 5 was corrupting the settings for the iPhone 6 using the same device name.

I hope this helps. Good luck!

When I tried to use the iPhone 6 over blue tooth audio to my 2014 Ford Taurus and also to my 2009 Mercury Sable I found that I had to set the iPhone volume for music to Maximum to hear the music in the car. I hope that Apple can change the blue tooth output to a higher level. If the iPhone volume is less then 3/4 of the way all you will hear is static.

My 2013 Ford Fusion with sync has the same issue. 5 seconds into the call my iPhone 6 disconnects. Music plays fine thru USB but Bluetooth will think call has ended & abruptly disconnect. I've tried resetting the system & did a master reset. Deleted all Bluetooth proflies & re-paired my iPhone & still will not work. I had to go back to using a headset in my fusion. Unbelievable that they would not have tested this before releasing as ford & Apple are supposed to be working together....
