iTune Store download stopped (err=8003, -3259, etc.)

Since upgrading to vers. 7 I have troubles downloading TV Shows (f.e. Prison Break Season1) for which I payed for.
The downloads are starting but stopped suddenly with above mentioned error messages. Very annoying also as some of the downloads pursue to about 95%, stop and are restarting from 0% again!
Are there any known problems with the server or can someone please explain possible troubleshooting?

Thanks, Axel

PS: I might add that the Software Upgrade from QuickTime Pro 7.0.2 to 7.1.3 - for which I bought the upgrade - is also not working (although I doubt that has anything to do with the iTune Store Server)

The reply from ITMS suggested:
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93069

I followed the instructions - now the download completed (504.9 of 504.9 MB) but after processing, iTunes came up with a new error: stopped (err=9006)!

The download of "xxx/xxx/xxx" was interrupted.
Please choose Check For Purchase in the Store menu to resume the download

Which I did; result: the cache of xxx/xxx/xxx was deleted and the download starts from beginning. Although all downloads are resumed the bottom right button suggest Resume All.

I am speechless - honestly, absolutely appalled by what's going on...or should I say: not going on!

Why does apple act like this is not a problem? This is very insulting in and of itself. We are faithful, loyal, customers who defend these products to the end, and I feel as if i'm being ignored. after several email, several forum posts and letters I still have gotten no answers from apple. Itunes 7 has to be the problem because this has never ever happened to me. only since version 7 has this begun. Are they just to proud to say they need to patch this problem. at least if they aknowledge the problem I would feel much better knowing someone else is worried about this except the people who are getting screwed. If I buy another season or episode or movie or whatever from apple and this happens again I am going to take a major break from itunes..maybe for good.

I am sure Apple is working on it; I got this mail on 22nd:

I understand that you are getting error 8003 when yo are trying to download. I'm sorry for any frustration this issue has caused .
Finding a solution for you is important to me, so I have requested assistance with the issue you reported. You will receive an email after the matter has been investigated and further information is available.
Thank you for your patience. Apple wants your iTunes experience to be as enjoyable as possible.

I guess by now you all know the "Possible iTunes Store errors" page:

I just had a similar problem. I downloaded the latest episode of "Bones. It took over 45 minutes and I received the error message 3259- soemthing about the network timing out. I cannot seem to get it to download again. When I click on the episode it keeps telling me I need iTunes 7.1.3 or later to play the video. I checked and I have the latest version of iTunes. Now what do I do????

I just posted this info on another thread as well. I was getting error 9006 for a while and then it started telling me that the download was corrupt or something.

This fixed it for me, so here's hoping:
So I had this yesterday with my wife's computer. I was able to fix it but I had to restart all the show downloads from the beginning.

in your iTunes Music Folder there's a new folder called "Downloads". The downloads folder contains all of the temp download files for TV and Movie show downloads.

1. Quit itunes

2. Delete everything in the Downloads folder (or just move to the trash and don't delete, just in case).

3. Open iTunes and Check for Purchases from the Store menu.

That should fix it.

same problem here. Seems to only be a problem for purchased content though. Free podcasts etc come down the wire fine, but store purchased stuff gets to 95% and starts from the beginning again with error 8003 or 9006. I am sometimes lucky but it appears to be about 1 try out of 10 when it completes the dowload......frustrated!! Meanwhile I am eating up my dowload limit for no gain.

From: msmac@apple.com
The error you received was a temporary issue with the iTunes Store that should now be resolved

Updating to 7.0.1 or following the instructions from msmac@apple.com did not solve any of the persisting problems in downloading the TV shows I payed for.
As this seems to be a MAJOR issue I suggest that msmac posts a statement on this forum - asap!!!

On 25th I got the following mail from iTMS:

1) Before proceeding, make sure you're using the latest version of iTunes. It can be downloaded free of charge: http://www.apple.com/itunes/download
Note: Installing the latest version of iTunes will not affect your Library or any items in your account that you haven't downloaded.

2) Open iTunes.

3) From the Store menu, choose "Advanced" and then "Deauthorize Audible Account" and then re-authorize it from the same drop-down menu.

4) Enter your account name and password and click OK.

To start downloading your recent purchases, please follow these steps these steps:
Enter your account name and password when prompted, then click the Check button. Your purchase should begin downloading.

This article provides more information about resuming interrupted downloads:
http://www.info.apple.com/kbnum/n93015
Once your purchases have downloaded, they will appear in your Purchased playlist as well as your iTunes library. However, you will need to authorize your computer again (1) to play your purchases. To authorize your computer, choose "Authorize Computer..." from the Store menu

- I do not have an account with Audible
- This did not solve the error messages and download problems I have.
- (1) Why would one have to authorize the computer again as it has not been deauthorized?

Does anyone at ITMS knows what is going wrong?

PS: email "support" at http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/store/download/ did not...

I am having the same problem.

I was hoping to see a response from Apple on this as it is a major issue.

It's like going to Walmart, purchasing a CD, only to have the cashier snatch it out of your bag when you're on your way out.

I get 3-4 different errors when downloading multiple videos and it pauses in mid-download. I have to keep force quitting iTunes and re-launching in order to get the download to complete.

This is ridiculous.

This has to stop. What is apples deal? Ive always been a loyal customer. why are they screwing us over like this. I cant even geta response from apple. tehy ignore me. all anyone can get is an email with solutions everyone has already done. They have a bad touch of the microsofts (screen of death) if you ask me. I pay good hard earned money for this stuff. I beginning to regret switching from my pc. At least when i had a problem someone somewhere could fix it. nobody not even apple has a clue to whats happening and if they do they are not sharing the info and shame on them. they've left us all out to dry, giving me the impression they dont care. If this comtinues i will switch back.so far im not impressed. were is the quality everyone is preaching about..the main reason i switched is because of itunes etc..and its justas choppy as any pc app i have ever used. Apple must fix this before people start jumping camps. a problem is one thing but be ignored about a problem is another.

iTune Store download stopped (err=8003, -3259, etc.)
