My 6 plus camera is clearly broken, it won't focus and when I take video it looks like I'm underwater or something strange. I know I'll need a replacement but my question is if I'm better off taking it in to the Apple store ASAP or waiting until a week until they have replacements? Did anyone need to get replacements early with other phone releases? Will they take the phone or just let me know when they have a replacement?

Without sounding silly, you have removed the plastic sheets that wraps from the front lcd around the back? Can't remember if it covered the lens too.

I would take it back right away. Wether they have replacements or not you'll either get an exchange right away or get your name down for replacement when the next shipment does comes in. That way at least you'll have one spoken for.
Piggles, that was my first thought too. But nope,no film or anything. I also restarted and restored it as new.
I took it in this morning about 10 minutes before they actually opened and got a replacement within ten minutes. I was really impressed and the geniuses were, well not excited really, but it was their first iPhone 6+ repair.
Glad you got it sorted deddinty. Your quite lucky I imaging to be able to get a replacement so soon of a sold out phone. Did they swap it out for a completely new retail boxed one or a black box ( small black plastic case that returns come in)

It was a service replacement. In fact the genius remarked on the new box design for replacements (white with a soft touch interior). He wanted to get me a retail replacement but they didn't have any.
