Q: iphone 6 camera not working

I just got the iphone 6 today and my camera's are not working.  All I see is a black screen and I can not take a picture.  Is anyone else having this issue? Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

    I am also having this problem please let me know if you find out the solution. The front facing camera works fine but the back facing one does not. When I attempt to use in something like Instagram it says camera failed to load.

    I Have the same problem with my iphone4s after upgrade to ios 8

    but my camera isn't responding at all.  I tried Instagram and got

    the same fail to load message.

    I had the same issue when my new one arrived yesterday and have just been in to an Apple store this morning, after a couple of quick tests they replaced the phone, they said its actually a logic board fault that caused it.

     

    Mine is an iPhone 6 64GB

    Just a little update. After messing with my camera's for awhile, they now sometimes come on, sometimes don't, and sometimes come on with a bunch of pink lines through them. Always within a few min the camera app crashes and goes black. Im hoping this is an ios 8 software problem that can be resolved with an update seeing as the nearest apple store is over an hr and a half away from here. Not to mention I have put a screen protector on my phone which is not reusable.

    I have the same issue. After turning on camera it quickly went to black and has not worked since. The app crashes when launched. Not good!

     

    Mine is an iPhone 6 Plus 128GB

    I am also having this issue I have a iPhone 6+ 64 Gb space gray. This is very upsetting I hope that this is just saw software issue and not a hardware issue.

    Update: Went to Apple Store and they just replaced phone after some testing.

    We had this problem, but found caused by using an iCloud backup from an iPhone3GS. 

    Solution = set it up as a new phone and use iCloud sync not backup.

    Similar problem with my 6.  Camera will work for a few seconds then go blurry and freeze if it comes up at all.  Sometimes it's just a black screen.  Seems to freeze quicker when you try to adjust the camera or change from pic to vid to slo mo etc..  You guys think we will get an update or should I just head to the Apple Store??

    I contacted customer support and have a new iphone6plus shipped. I tried multiple times restoring as new,backup and iCloud backup, nothing worked.

    Ok, I had the issue black screen preview but could still take a picture.

     

    Just got off Apple support chat here's what we did:

     

    Try to initiate Facetime call, front camera is working, hit the camera flip and sure enough, rear camera was working.

    That told her it was a software issue.

     

    Solution:

    Force quit all apps, power off phone. Wait 10 seconds and reboot phone. Camera preview is now working again.

    After spending quite awhile talking to apple iphone support today they had me try a couple things.: resetting the phone holding the power and home button at the same time for a few seconds, and restoring the phone as a new phone via itunes. They then determined my phone has a hardware problem and are shipping me a new phone free of charge. However, they refuse to reimburse me for my screen protector since I did not buy it from apple. Seems to me that most similar issues are most likely hardware problems. The number for iphone support is (800) 694-7466 if any of you need it.
