Jul 22, 2015 6:01 AM in response to Emiliajamesby Fernando Melone,Same thing here, not working, all of a sudden stopped working and from time to time it starts or even gives me purple or pink lines.
I am SURE this is software, the cameras don't have flexes or stuff in the inside, it either works or don't. It's not analog!
Boot the phone 2 or 3 times and it starts working, boot the phone after that and it does not... how can that be hardware?
Contacted apple care, they KNOW it's their faulty phones, otherwise they would never replace it that fast with no questions.
What happened Apple? you used to be cool.

Jul 25, 2015 9:59 PM in response to ryanmsurby Fathu001,Hi,
Once I bought new iPhone 6, camera was working, but when I restored back up from my computer (or connected to iTunes), (back) camera and torch app is not working. The same thing happened in my iPhone 5s and it became ok when the software is reinstalled.

Jul 28, 2015 5:52 AM in response to stevefromblackburnby Papsito,I seem to have the same problem. Backed up my iPhone 3GS yesterday to get an app from there and now my camera doesn't work. I tried reseting the phone, restoring it, and generally all options. How did you solve this?

May 24, 2016 5:42 PM in response to ryanmsurby globuu,After chatting with Apple Support, My phone qualified for an iSight Camera Replacement Program for Iphone 6 plus phone.
Apple has determined that, in a small percentage of iPhone 6 Plus devices, the iSight camera has a component that may fail causing your photos to look blurry. The affected units fall into a limited serial number range and were sold primarily between September 2014 and January 2015.
If your iPhone 6 Plus is producing blurry photos and falls into the eligible serial number range, Apple will replace your device's iSight camera, free of charge. You may click on the link to verify if your phone qualifies. Even if your phone is out of warranty you still might qualify.

Aug 13, 2016 11:46 PM in response to ryanmsurby FalafelRaptor,I have this issue sometimes too. With the exception of wiping my phone I've tried all the simple solutions, that is reset settings, reboot, power off for a while, open from lock screen, leave camera app running in the background etc...
It seems like none of these worked consistently. On occasion I'd be able to take a few photos, but as soon as I clicked on the thumbnail to view the image and returning to the camera, the rear camera didn't work again. The video works consistently, and the front camera works consistently too. This issue tends to coincide with my flashlight not working, when I hit the flashlight button it doesn't even change state.
This is what worked for me (but i'd only do it as a last ditch effort):
My phone is slightly bent (just barely), enough that the screen sort of clicks if I push on the corner. At some point I tried to bend it back by pressing on the edges of the screen a little above half way up the phone while pulling the top towards me with my index fingers and pressing the bottom of the phone against my stomach. I do this with a _reasonable_ amount of pressure, it's forceful but not enough to do any damage. It turns out I hear a little click at which point I stop. Afterwards my flashlight and camera work consistently for a while, at least several weeks.
I must jar my phone occasionally, or put pressure on it in my front pocket which makes things go bad again. But I've done this maybe a dozen times and never made things any worse.
Good luck!
