Sep 25, 2014 2:26 PM in response to Meg St._Clairby Phil0124,They are usually inside the documentation packet. At least that was the case for the iPhone 5 I own, and most iPhone 5 and 5S Iv'e encoutered.

Sep 25, 2014 2:33 PM in response to Phil0124by Meg St._Clair,Do you buy SIM free/unlocked phones? If so, it would make sense to include them. I've had reason to open and activate a lot of iPhones over the last few years. They all came with a pre-installed SIM and no removal tool.
Fortunately, I have a nice tool that came with a Motorola phone.

Sep 25, 2014 2:37 PM in response to Meg St._Clairby Phil0124,I've bought a couple on unlocked phones yes. Its possible the tool is only packaged with full priced unlocked phones. Never would have though of that.
In any case, a paperclip works just as well.

I think that's what I've heard. Never bought an unlocked phone myself as I use Verizon as my carrier.

Sep 25, 2014 5:00 PM in response to Aakash12009by Lawrence Finch,The SIM removal tool is only included with phones that do not have a preinstalled SIM. A paperclip works just fine if yours did not come with the tool.

Oct 31, 2014 9:09 PM in response to Aakash12009by ketan_ved,Very well raised issue Aakash.
Quite remarkable observation Lawrence.
Personally I would have loved to have the SIM card removal tool.
This is my 1st and only iPhone, would've liked a complete kit to my satisfaction. -

This is my 1st and only iPhone, would've liked a complete kit to my satisfaction. You have what Apple considers the "complete kit". The "SIM removal tool" that Apple includes is, quite literally, the same type of wire as a paperclip? There's no log, nothing special about it at all. The picture shown above is not what it looks like at all anymore.

Nov 1, 2014 3:24 PM in response to pogsterby Meg St._Clair,Very strange. Don't have any of mine around as I tend to lose them so I can't compare. Maybe other people's experiences are different but I only very rarely have reason to remove a SIM.
A paperclip still works just fine, though.
