Was the built in Nike Plus app removed from the iPhone 6?

I had the iPhone 5s with iOS 8 and used the built in Nike Plus app but now that I just purchased the iPhone 6 the built in app is gone. Does anyone know if this was something removed completely.

Well, I just spent literally 58 mins on the phone with an Apple senior tech who assured me that there is obviously a problem since the Nike+iPod app is not already included in the list of apps under the 'Settings' menu, as it currently is on my iPhone 5 with iOS 8--as well it being on the iOS 7 operating system too. So, while it may not have been included on that weblink you provided, it definitely is an included app within iOS 8. I was just using that particular app a couple of days ago on my '5' after updating it to iOS 8.

I'll just wait to hear back from the Apple engineers on an official response. They can tell me as a matter of fact whether or not it has been removed on the '6'. As I mentioned, I specifically asked if it was a hardware limitation but was told point blank that the Nike+iPod app should be visible on my new phone. So, they're going to do more research & call me back; nowhere on Apple's website nor Nike's do they mention that this app would be removed. Maybe it does have something to do with HealthKit, or it could be a localized issue.

I'm wondering as well because I use the Nike + app with the sensor religiously and as of now there's no way to pair the sensor with any app. When I first noticed it was gone I was excited that it was built into either the Nike running app or health because I hate having multiple apps that do almost the same thing such as the built in Nike + app for use with the sensor or the Nike running app for gps runs.

How would I get the health app to track my running distance?

You don't use Healthkit to track runs. Healthkit compiles data from different sources/apps and allows you to view this data.

Use any of the hundreds of apps to track your runs. persoanlly, I use Digifit (fro runs, walks, bike rides) along with the PolarH7 heart rate montior.

Yes but the only app that will use the small Nike sensor that goes in your shoe was the built in nike+ app

Okay but hhraky (whom I responded to) did not mention Nike sensor.

and pretty sure the Nike+ Running GPS app can use the sensor.

The pedometer is built into the health app but I don't like holding my phone while running.

If you don't like carrying your iPhone when running, how do you use the shoe sensor without the iPhone?

Was the built in Nike Plus app removed from the iPhone 6?
