iOS8...I have 3 photos yet 1.0GB of storage use?

Hi,

I have the same issue and it is annoying.

The photos are in "My Photo Stream" as shown in the screen shot.

Open the Photos app, click on "Albums" in the lower right, then "My Photo Stream". You can delete photos from there.

My photo stream is closed. Also, I checked photos/album there is no photo. But still t says 1.0GB photo when I go into usage/manage space/photos. 😕

I am having the same issue, I have been searching the web for two days now for an answer.

I have zero pictures, but settings> General> About shows 164 photos, and Usage shows 2.1 GB Photo Library, .7 KB Synced from iTunes Library and 4.2 KB Shared Photo Stream. iCloud photo sync is turned off, and Photo Sharing is turned off, actually he's never been used.

Oh man I just checked setting/about and it says 475 photo 7 video for me although I have neither photo nor video. 😮

Yea, I can't find a fix for that, my daughters phone will not take any pictures, it warns that it is full but there is nothing there.

If I don't find a fix soon I am going to restore the phone to factory and start over.

I this these photos are for apps. Because, one of my friend have just bought an iPhone 6 64gb. She got 480 photo 9 videos now with 1 day use although her photos section is empty.

I am having the same problem as well. It looks like apple is giving us faulty information. They are not using their GB distributions fairly. I have 100 photos and it says I am using 4.8GB of photos. 100 photos should not be 4.8GB of photos.

I deleted all the photos and video off my iPhone 5s in order to make room to install iOS 8.1.3.

My PHOTOS & CAMERA under Manage Storage says it is still using 7.1 GB of space, even though I have NO photos or video on the phone.

I backed up the phone and restored it to try and recover the now empty space but it didn't work. It still says that it is using 7.1 GB of space.

Please help!

Go to photos

click on albums

click on recently deleted

select each video (possibly photos) in that album and delete them.

Your free space will be restored.

Here's how I did it.

First, I backed up my iPad to iTunes, wiped it, then restored it from the iTunes backup, but to no avail. It still showed that I was using about 5gb even though I turned off photo stream and made sure the recently deleted album was empty.

The second thing I tried was backing it up to iCloud. I re-wiped it and restored it from that backup. This worked. It still shows 5kb for some reason, but that's a whole lot better than 5gb! Unfortunately iCloud restoration takes a lot longer than iTunes, but it was the only way I could get it to work.
