Sep 21, 2014 2:20 PM in response to Mikef91by chocolatellama,I just purchased a 64GB Silver iPhone 6 through Sprint and I'm having the same issues as everyone else. My 3G and LTE work fine, and I'm getting 25mb/s according to the Ookla Speedtest, but pages load so slowly on Safari and videos constantly buffer. I don't think it's the type of WiFi security that's causing the issue. I've tried restoring my phone, resetting my network settings, and I even went to change my WiFi settings to WPA2 only to find out that it was already set to WPA2. I'm using an 802.11n router and, according to Apple's specs on the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, we should be able to support 802.11a/g/b/n/ac. If 802.11n is supported, why are we having such issues?

Sep 21, 2014 2:23 PM in response to Mikef91by pm1016,Thanks Mike! I was having the same extremely slow wifi issue with my iPhone6. I tried the reset you suggested: Settings>General>Reset>Network Settings...and now it is working properly.

Sep 21, 2014 2:24 PM in response to Mikef91by LPasket,I was having this same issue. After reading several times to reset network setting, I tried it and it did not speed up. Then I read another forum that suggested resetting SETTINGS at General>Reset>Reset All Settings. This worked for me! It has been about an hour since I did it and everything is running faster. The only bad thing is you will have to go in and re-enter some of your settings all over again. Not all of them, but some. Hope this helps someone out there!

Sep 21, 2014 2:37 PM in response to Mikef91by SpartanExtreme,Here is my update. I upgraded my wireless ethernet adapter to be able to support WPA2. I changed my router from WEP to WPA2. got the speed back on wifi on IPhone 6. I can now stream video. Ookla test shows 7MBps speed on wifi. This is the speed of my service. I was measuring LTE at over 20MBps. I wish I could just stay on LTE. Anyway, all is good for now. Really enjoying the iPhone 6. Zoom mode is awesome.

Sep 21, 2014 8:41 PM in response to Mikef91by snglduck25,I upgraded my router today and noticed that on 2.4ghz, the connection on the iphone still *****. Once I hooked it up to 5ghz, it was blazing fast. So at least in my case, it seems to have come down to the iphone not playing with 2.4ghz.

Sep 21, 2014 10:49 PM in response to Mikef91by Rob_EE,I'm actually getting the best WiFi speed I've ever had on an iPhone with my 6 Plus. The bottleneck is still WiFi, but it's completely acceptable for what I do on my phone! Here is a speedtest I ran just now, connected through a UniFi AC, using an 80 MHz wide channel group on 5GHz:
If it's not a problem with your AP/router, I'd suspect something is wrong with your phone. Hopefully you're able to get it fixed.
EDIT: Resized the image. It was obnoxiously large in my original post.

Sep 22, 2014 4:07 PM in response to Mikef91by z06gal,My router was already set to WPA so that isn't it for me. I have to use the 2.4 GHZ connection. The 5 is unusable. The thing that gets me is it screws up other stuff connected to the router. I have everything connected to the 5 except my phone and iPad. I think this is an iOS 8 issue since so many on MacRumors with all iPhones are experiencing the problem

Sep 22, 2014 5:06 PM in response to Mikef91by CANDRimusic,Same issue here. iPhone 6 64 gb space grey. i have done every different combination of these resets and restores everyone fixes it for 5 minutes or so like everyone here is saying. Then goes back to the same useless slow and sometimes app crashing speed. This is ridiculous. wasting too much data too. I hope Apple gives us this sw update this week. dang

Sep 22, 2014 5:10 PM in response to Mikef91by retinapk,I resolved the wifi problem by changing router to WEP-PSK (AES). Now speeds are comparable to laptop.

Sep 22, 2014 8:41 PM in response to Mikef91by Cmgunslinger,I am also experiencing wifi speed/connectivity issues on an iphone 6. I have tried resetting network settings which only temporarily fixed the problem. My network already uses WPA2 so that is not an issue. I experienced issues on both 2.4 and 5ghz channels. Like other users, my LTE speeds are normal. Hope this helps to diagnose the problem.

Sep 23, 2014 5:27 AM in response to Cmgunslingerby Patsywright,Omg here we go again. I have the first iphone 5 for 2 years thank god I still have unlimited data ,it has never worked on wifi. Apple gave me 4 new iphone in the first year it came out.. Was looking forward to the iphone6 coming out thought they would have fixed what ever was going on with the wifi in the iPhone. I tried everything to make it work. I just gave up after a year. Order the new iPhone 6 plus last week. Waiting for it to come in. Really hope it works on wifi. good luck to everyone having this problem it has been going on ever since the release of the first iphone 5 in Sep 2012.
