I have no "private browsing" option in Safari. Only "edit". Why?

Safari > Bookmarks. @ the bottom of the menu I have read "private browsing" should be displayed opposite "edit". There is nothing. Anyone have an idea why? It was there in the last version before upgrading to os8.

Visit sites without making history. Tap User uploaded file, then tap Private. Sites you visit won’t appear in iCloud Tabs or be added to History on your iPhone. To put away your private sites, tap User uploaded file, then tap Private again. You can close the pages, or keep them for viewing the next time you use Private Browsing Mode.
