Sep 22, 2014 12:38 PM in response to MyBlueSkyby HawaiianJoe,Hi,
Any one experiencing issues with the following (on a iPhone 5, "new" replacement as of 09/18):
1. Text messages- Cannot send message if in landscape view, must switch to portrait view to send.
2. Touch sensitivity is too high/too low. i.e.- aforementioned issue, as well as in other native apps: I press on the screen and nothing happens. In other cases (Safari tabs), I barely touch the screen and a tab is created.
3. iOS keeps telling me apps (that may or may not be running) are wanting to access location services. In iOS7, I turned the majority of these off except for: Maps, Facebook, travel apps, calendar, Safari. Not sure why it is asking about these. I loaded from backup, saved just before the update.

IMHO asking folks to post all of their likely unrelated issues on one thread is exactly how folks should NEVER use discussion forms! If you have a problem with your iPhone or iOS 8 then you should: 1) first, search the discussions for anyone else that has already posted the issue, then post your comment there; or 2) start a new discussion thread for a SINGLE issue so that others can discuss it in a reasonable way.
Discussion forums work best when discussions are of a SINGLE well defined issue, and have a very clearly worded subject. This allows the thread to remain manageable in size and have some focus.

Thanks Tim. What I think your suggested way is very much feasible for a stable version where someone is facing a specific issue. But here people are facing different multiple issues and yes, it is very likely to have number of issues after a new release.

Sep 22, 2014 9:58 PM in response to MyBlueSkyby oNedAe,Im having the same issues as whats mentioned from others. To be honest, I been a iphone user since iphone 4 and this has been the WORST update with these many obvious glitches. I don't get it~ didn't you guys test it out with iphone 5S before launching this **** thing? I'm sooooo disappointed with the way you guys handled the launch of IOS8, and honestly feel like I should be compensated for the stress this update has caused me.
SERIOUSLY APPLE SUPPORT PEOPLE, PLEASE ESCALATE ALL THE ISSUES AND HAVE AN UPDATE SOON TO FIX IT!!!!! I do business with my iphone 5S and your product is affecting my work. Im pretty **** sure this is not what you guys want to embed your image as to iphone users. I also demand an apology from you guys.

Quick battery drain and excessive heating issue is really annoying and frustrating for using a mobile phone. Hope Apple takes care of these burning issues ASAP.

Sep 23, 2014 11:15 AM in response to MyBlueSkyby GSR13,iphone 5s 64gb here
i havd a hard time believing a company as thorough and thoughtful as Apple didn't have people test out iOS 8's functionality on older models. I am actually shocked at just how **** poor this version 8 update is. It has turned my iphone into a laggy battery draining mess. I will be watching closely to see how fast apple acknowledges these issues and how fast they can put out an adequate update that will fix this mess. If I get the slightest inclination that this was done on purpose to push people into buying the new iPhone 6, I will not hesitate to sell ALL of my apple products and will never give a single cent to this company again. As you can tell I'm pretty disgusted at just how horrible this update was, I was totally not expecting such a colasal failure from Apple of all companies.
the issues I've been having:
battery draining 4x times faster than normal
safari browser has a whole host of issues: running slower, flickering, webpages loading up distorted, slow to focus when zooming in/out, etc.
RAM memory is constantly at 75-80% capacity
iCloud backup not working (i upgraded to 20gb and tried to backup my phone a dozen times even let it go overnight and it would just get stuck during the upload and not move any further)
iphone resetting itself on its own (never happened before)
ibooks & App Store not functioning properly (search bar & navigation controls would disappear/distort)
iPhone itself would heat up and get very hot
I tried to wipe my phone clean and restored from iTunes backup and it didn't fix anything. i am extemely disappointed with Apple snd this whole debacle. At the very least they should give folks the option to go back to 7.1.2. At this point that would be a true major upgrade.

Sep 23, 2014 12:04 PM in response to MyBlueSkyby jag6142,Unable to upload photos to email and other web based applications that worked fine in the previous OS. The attach photo functionality DOES NOT work for Safari or Google Chrome. For Chrome, the functionality completely crashes Chrome and closes it. After upgrading Chrome, the "choose existing" and "take photo or video" links are inoperable and completely disabled. Using the functionality via Safari allows you to select a photo but nothing uploads. Attachment functionalty in webmail applications, which worked in the prior OS, does not work either. Certain individual third-party applications seem to work. Searches show this issues was identified several days ago. How long will it take Apple to respond and resolve?

Sep 23, 2014 2:05 PM in response to MyBlueSkyby applle,i am using iPhone 5, 32GB and updated to iOS 8 through iTunes . answers to your questions below:
1.battery life degrades a bit but not much as you and others mentioned and reason is more features in iOS 8.
2.yes, there is no option to choose 2G/ 3G. tip to get 2G: if you have only 2G activated then it will switch to only 2G mode else default 3G mode if activated
or you are in some area where 3G is not there then default would be 2G. apple is expecting everyone to use at least 3G and so they gave this option only
3. felt this issue initially but nowadays i am not facing. It depend on temperature also when you are using iPhone. yes when I use 3G in bright sunny day, iPhone gets hot after sometime and this was the issue with iOS 7 also. hopefully next update will resolve the issue as much as possible.
4. Not facing this issue.
5. nope. I prefer chrome but whenever I use safari, didn't face this issue. Chrome is the best browser.
6. nope, no issues.
as like everyone, i am also waiting for next update.

Sep 23, 2014 3:53 PM in response to GSR13by bwyco,I Had the iPhone 5 and now the iphone 6, and still have the issue with the phone resetting itself periodically. Also having issues with multiple apps crashing; including safari and iMessage. I also have noticed missing keyboard when it should be there. Many issues I noticed on the older model are still on the new model phones. I also thought other apps would be available if they were like. As if I went to edit a photo, it would bring up the photo editing apps I have loaded on my phone. No such luck with that.

Sep 23, 2014 10:05 PM in response to bwycoby Jonquiljo ,I am really waiting for for the next version! I bought an iPhone 6 plus with iOS 8 pre installed, and upgraded two iPad Airs, one iPad 4, and a mini retina. Boy was that a mistake! My battery life has been reduced to less than half of what it was before on the iPads, and the iPad 6 plus (with a supposedly wonderful battery life) barely lasts through the day. I had a one hour phone call on LTE yesterday, and the battery went from 100% to 75%! Something is really wrong here. I have had apps freeze, crash, etc. does Apple even check this stuff out before they give it to the public.
Perhaps the biggest disappointment is the iPhone 6 plus. How can Apple boast about its wonderful battery life? I've never has a phone with a shorter battery time. I just can't believe Apple said that this can go for many more hours than any previous iPhone. I've shut off everything that can use power - no multitasking, nothing. I even have shut off most alerts, etc. it makes little difference. I thought I was going nuts until I saw other users have the same complaints. I even turned on one of my iPad airs yesterday, immediately put it on standby and left it on the desk for about 8 hours. It sat there doing nothing. When I came back and shut it down, the battery had gone from 100% to 86%. It was just sitting there doing nothing. It never lost any power before the upgrade from 7.1.
When hen is Apple going to come clean and admit that this is a mess? Better yet, when are they going to fix it. They seem so obsessed with selling phones that they really let loose a loser OS. I will reserve judgment about the 6 plus until an OS fix comes out. Right now I have screen brightness turned so low that I'd be better off using these things in the dark.

Sep 23, 2014 11:46 PM in response to MyBlueSkyby applle,I have learnt 2 things from support communities:
1. should buy iPhone one or two months later after its launch
2. never update iOS on the first day of its availability
