iphone 6 headphone jack Issues

The iPhone 6 jack has too much tolerance and 1/2 the headphones I own cause cut outs or music to stops playing. In addition Siri will sometimes engage erroneously do to the movement in the headphone jack. I tried and iPhone 5 and all of my jacks fit very snug without any issues. The problem appears to be that the the iPhone 6 jack was designed to allow rotation of the connector and this is a problem for a number of headphones.

At the end of 2016 my iPhone 6 had an IOS update. About a week later I wanted to use my headphones but neither the Apple nor my Sony noise cancelling headphones would work. My iPhone recognised that headphones were plugged in but didn't allow them to play music although I could use bluetooth to play music through a Bose Soundlink Mini.

After a little research I turned off Siri and now they both work.

I think there is a software fault.

I have similar issue. I have Iphone 6S plus and shortly after I updated to 10.2.1 (which I HATE btw) the headphone jack stopped working. I have Bose SoundSport in ear headphones and Bose SoundTrue In-Ear Headphones. Both have worked great until now and taken a lot of abuse as I listen to podcasts to go to sleep. Have been trying bluetooth wireless earphones but none are comfortable enough to use to go to sleep. I've started really despise Apple.

Not sure if I'm doing this right. First timer, so forgive. You said they "found something deep in the jack hole" but didn't say what. Once my iPad Air2 was slowing down on recharging time. Took longer and longer. Took it in and it was some glitch I didn't understand, but she did mention that with the phones frequently the recharge time slowed down due to pocket lint in the jack hole. It would also get into the microphone hole. She said a simple remedy was to get into the habit of putting your phone closed end down into pieckets and purses. Maybe this causes other jack issues as well. Said the pocket lint problem was so common that they had to develop a special tool to get it out without damaging the electronics within.

I was just wondering because last week I was using my ear buds completely fine and one week later I have tried 3 different ear buds and one pair of headphones on my I phone 6s headphone jack and sometimes I don't hear anything or I will hear the music or video I am playing but it will play double or triple of that noise all at once. I just want help on how to maybe fix this. I have already cleaned out the headphone jack.

made a video how to for what worked for me

FIX headphone iphone - YouTube

If nothing works, such as q-tip trick, un-plug in and plug in of the headphone, bluetooth speaker trick, the Setting/General/Accessibility/incoming calls (audio routing for newer software)/set speaker, then headset, turning on shazam, activiate siri...etc. TRY THIS, 1) have someone call you, 2) turn on to speaker mode, 3)turn off the speaker, 4) plug in your headphone, 5) un-plug headphone. This should work!

So I had this issue and did ALL the tricks on youtube. ALL of them DID NOT work. But this did work. You can follow all the steps he did but what I did was a bit more basic. I went to Setting/General/Accessibility/audio routing -set speaker.

Then I used gmail to call myself but I'm sure you can have someone just call you. It should answer in speaker mode. (Having someone call YOU is important because I called someone and this did not work.)

When you answer the phone and its on speaker mode hit the home button and go to podcasts or Spotify or anything that play sounds(I used podcast) then while the phone is still on the call in speaker mode play something and you should hear it on the speaker simutaniously as the phone call. then while its playing the audio hang up on the phone call.

This was the only thing that worked. I was so excited that I actually signed up for an account after 10 years with an iPhone just to post this.

Hope this helps.

Does your earphones sound a bit brisk? Have you tried to connect it to some other phones like Samsung Note or any Galaxy S Series with surround sound effects?

In my case it is that it is sounding brisk and not very surround sound when I connect it to iPhone 6. The earphones are good and they sound awesome in other phones especially my Samsung Note 3.

I have somewhat similar problem, no sound both ways when using headphones for a call (tried different working ones with no success) and audio playback on headphones some times wont work nor (if removed phone) speaker would work.

The jack fits well in the socket and when working sound is good no noise. The phone is brand knew Last update done.

I have tried only answering call on speakers and playd some music while on call. You will hear both. After inserting the stock headphones I could hear both music and call. After that I can use headphones for calling and for music with so far no issues.

Looks like a software issue...

Many thanks for the tip CAPbacK, I have sign in for this and to confirm that it works for hands free not working too.
