Q: iPhone 6 bluetooth not working correctly with Nissan

My wife and I each have a Nissan Pathfinder (mine a 2014, hers a 2013).  We have always had out iPhones pairs to them, but the iPhone 6 is not working correctly.  The phones pair, but there is no audio (in or out) during phone calls, the screen in the car does not show a call was initiated when dialing out, and the Answer and Disconnect buttons on the steering wheel are not working.  We have restarted both phones, restarted the car, deleted the pairing and re-paired.  Nothing works.  Is anyone else having this problem?  This is a HUGE problem and it needs to be fixed ASAP (I am hoping through a phone firmware upgrade).

I also noticed that my Jabra headset I use at my desk (although it works for calls), loses the functionality of the single answer/disconnect button. I am assuming this is the same issue to either the bluetooth radio hardware to firmware.  I have only seen one page on the net talking about this to date.  Any hep is GREATLY appreciated.  Thanks.

I just got my iPhone 6 and it will NOT FIND any of my Bluetooth devices, which I have three: Jambox, Bose headphones, and Sony car stereo. I've even reset both the devices and the phone to original settings; turned them off and back on; went back to the latest iOS and still nothing. I've had two other iPhones and they worked just fine which is why I have the devices and one of the reasons why I bought a new iPhone. What's wrong? Again, it's not even finding any Bluetooth devices.

Just to assist you further on your specific issue..

    • Has you iPhone ever been able to connect to your car's bluetooth?
    • Have you tried to reset network connections from the GENERAL | RESET screens?
    • Make sure that your Car's bluetooth device list is clear of all devices.

If you browse some of the previous posts I can see 2 patterns emerging:

Those that could connect to bluetooth , but had connection issues with dropped calls and then issues with reconnecting

Those that could never connect to their car's bluetooth at all.

It mat be the case that Apple managed to fix the issue with dropped calls and intermittent bluetooth drops with existing connections. Not sure about the other issues since, I was not directly affected by them.

    • If you had a prior iPhone 5 series using iOS 7, were you able to connect to bluetooth and successfully make calls or stream media?
    • Does someone in your family or friends have another brand of phone you can test our your car's bluetooth connectivity with?

I know that this may be aggravating ( It was for me to exhaust all options before waiting for a patch ) however it may benefit you to document all your tests and then open a case with Apple regarding this. I know I was one of the many that added to the case lists that were passed onto engineers at Apple.

I was also told by an Apple employee that escalated my case to make sure that your test results are consistent and that they can isolate the problem.

I hope this helps you a bit!

    2014 Chevrolet Impala Limited

I have posted several times in this thread about the issue I have had, and all the failed attempts to get consistent functionality.

I upgraded 3 days ago to IOS 8.1 right when it came out.

Without any other changes other than the upgrade I can now make outgoing calls and receive incoming calls.

I hope others have the same success.

    Best Regards.

I'm going to try this, as I patiently wait for my 6 plus I have a 5s that has had bluetooth connectivity issues since day one in my new challenger. I even had the stereo replaced twice because whatever happens when the bluetooth tries to connect it freezes the stereo. I also got the phone replaced and that helped somewhat but now it's doing it again. Thanks for the helpful advice!

It appears that many iPhone 6 users that have newer cars seem to have the issues resolved.

Older cars with previous bluetooth revisions seem to have more issues.

I believe that Apple has to make one more "tweak" to the bluetooth stack to support all users.

I totally agree with them making one more tweak on the bluetooth. I thought it was just Dodge and their crappy "uconnect" service (those poor people I yelled at them so much for nothing working). My bf's bluetooth in his KIA works like a charm, always has..guess it's just the different companies. I will try what was suggest and hopefully that will fix everything. FINGERS CROSSED!

I have Nissan Qashqai 2013 and Iphone 4S. The problem was resolved with deleting paired devices both from the phone and car and then "network reset" on iphone,

I agree that there are additional "tweaks" that need to be made after 8.1. I have two 2011 vehicles: One is Ford running Sync. I have no issues with Bluetooth connection. The other is a Subaru with an OEM deck w/o Nav. The BT connection was automatic with my iPhone 4. When the deck searches for the iPhone 6, it cannot find it. I get a "No Device Found" error. I can either manually make the connection through the Menu on the deck or through the Bluetooth settings on the phone. I've tried re-pairing and a network reset on my iPhone 6, no change.

have you tried to log your icloud account out of your iphone 6 and see if bluetooth works with your car?

theoretically speaking, if your iphone is not associated with any icloud account, it acts just like a dummy phone and bluetooth should work fine.

the new ios 8 and yosemite added a lot of cool features that use bluetooth and icloud to communicate devices with each other, and if it is not set correctly, it may not work.

mine worked after following the apple support i posted few pages back.  few days ago i messed around with my macbook with yosemite and iphone and it broke the bluetooth and car connection.  sure enough, i checked my iphone's bluetooth menu and macbook wasn't there.  but after macbook appears under the bluetooth menu, the hands free worked again.

No, not an Apple fix, but sometime I can get it to work if i go to my phone, turn off blue tooth, then turn on,  go to bluetooth (on phone) push my AUDi UHV(which is my car) and reconnect. Apple is still working with me and understands it is an apple problem (only after they tried to blame it on audi and i proved that an iPhone with ios7 still works). My work gave me an iPhone 5 with iOS 7 to use and it work perfectly every time. I am expecting  a call monday from an apple engineer.

Are you having the same problem?
