Q: iPhone 6 bluetooth not working correctly with Nissan

My wife and I each have a Nissan Pathfinder (mine a 2014, hers a 2013).  We have always had out iPhones pairs to them, but the iPhone 6 is not working correctly.  The phones pair, but there is no audio (in or out) during phone calls, the screen in the car does not show a call was initiated when dialing out, and the Answer and Disconnect buttons on the steering wheel are not working.  We have restarted both phones, restarted the car, deleted the pairing and re-paired.  Nothing works.  Is anyone else having this problem?  This is a HUGE problem and it needs to be fixed ASAP (I am hoping through a phone firmware upgrade).

I also noticed that my Jabra headset I use at my desk (although it works for calls), loses the functionality of the single answer/disconnect button. I am assuming this is the same issue to either the bluetooth radio hardware to firmware.  I have only seen one page on the net talking about this to date.  Any hep is GREATLY appreciated.  Thanks.

No idea why the case affects it, but it did. I might note that my case was a white case. Maybe that?  But it's working great now Without a case on it!  Wifi is greatly improved as well!!!

A factory reset worked for me. I bit the bullet and did it to see if it would make a difference with my 2014 Toyota RAV4.  I exported my photos, did the reset, and I paired my iPhone 6 with the vehicle. I now have full calling functionality again.  Then, I spent an hour downloading all of my apps again.  Not a fun process but I am happy to have my handsfree back.  Thanks for the suggestion and solution.

I should also add that I had previously tried resetting my network setting a couple times before the factory reset but that did not rectify the problem in my case. I think it would be wise to try the network settings reset first but to proceed with a factory reset if all else fails.

I hate that you are having this issue. It made me absolutely hate the phone.  There are tons of things you can try to resolve it, but the only thing that worked for me was to swap the phone out.  Apple didn't want to do it but I insisted.  Funny things is, although it worked, I'm afraid of it happening again so I letter BT turned off.  Sad but true.

I agree. BT phone connectivity is a major feature in my opinion.  Especially in the states where hands-free is the only legal way to use your phone while in the vehicle. Apple please fix this issue!!!!

Keep in mind if you factory reset your phone, and you have icloud backup enabled, you may just get the same settings back right after reset.

In my scenario I had icloud backup disabled, then I factory reset, and bluetooth worked as it should.

phone is working well, it is in a otterbox defender case and working well (just mentioning due to other case issues mentioned)

True, but you have to set up the device as a new phone rather than restore it from the iCloud backup.

Where did you hear that Fiat is sending out an update?  I spoke to a Fiat - Chrysler Top Care rep yesterday and they are not aware of a forthcoming upcoming update?  I'll be really happy if this is the case though.

did you try to power cycle the phone and see if it works after that, I did it and it went back to not working again, so factory reset won't work.

I have the same problem with my iphone 6 plus, but not my son's iphone 6, which worked straight away.  I tried to reset the network, have problems connecting with both a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder and a 2014 BMW.  It is definitely not the various cars mentioned but problem with the software.

did you set your 6+/your son's 6 as new phone?  or restored via itune from an old iphone?

another thread is reporting that when the phone is set up as a new phone, there is no bluetooth issue.  but if restored from a previous backup, then bluetooth doesn't work.

My 6+ was set up as a new phone.  My son's 6 was also set up as a new phone.  I was able to pair with my Bluetooth headset but not my two cars.  For my Nissan, it shows Bluetooth connection but the audio does not work, like what some of the other users have reported.  For my BMW, can't even connect.

thank you for the quick reply.  i think i will just sit tight and wait for apple's fix.

mainstream news picked up the story, hopefully this will give the subject a hard push, as many new iphone 6 users are having this issue.
