Q: iPhone 6 bluetooth not working correctly with Nissan

My wife and I each have a Nissan Pathfinder (mine a 2014, hers a 2013).  We have always had out iPhones pairs to them, but the iPhone 6 is not working correctly.  The phones pair, but there is no audio (in or out) during phone calls, the screen in the car does not show a call was initiated when dialing out, and the Answer and Disconnect buttons on the steering wheel are not working.  We have restarted both phones, restarted the car, deleted the pairing and re-paired.  Nothing works.  Is anyone else having this problem?  This is a HUGE problem and it needs to be fixed ASAP (I am hoping through a phone firmware upgrade).

I also noticed that my Jabra headset I use at my desk (although it works for calls), loses the functionality of the single answer/disconnect button. I am assuming this is the same issue to either the bluetooth radio hardware to firmware.  I have only seen one page on the net talking about this to date.  Any hep is GREATLY appreciated.  Thanks.

Interesting, because I had the exact opposite problem.

My iPhone 6 worked fine until I upgraded to iOS 8.0.2. Now I can no longer take calls on either my 2014 Lincoln MKZ or my 2012 Lexus RX 350. When I go to take the call, it says I am on the call, but no audio is being routed to the car. Interestingly, the Bluetooth audio still works on both cars.

I havent upgraded to 8.0.2 yet, but I see there are still mixed reviews on who's able to get their BT to work. Good thing is this is affecting multiple years and multiple brands of vehicles as well as earpieces etc. that helps narrow the issue to Apple. I'll do the update later and report my results...mixed feelings!!!

I have the Mobridge System in my 2005 Benz, never had a problem streaming music with Iphone 5, using bluetooth and the A2dP profile, Now that profile seems to have vanished and can't stream. However my phone connects fine via bluetooth,in the car.. Deleted bluetooth, did a phone reset, established a new bluetooth connection, same problem, phone works in the car, but can't stream the music. Very strange. No difference with 8.0 or 8.0.2

That is the exact issue we all are experiencing. After swapping my phone out for a new device and re-syncing it to my vehicle, I no longer see this issue BUT honestly thats because I refuse to use it until it is resolved.

There seems to be different issues being addressed in this forum. Those of general bluetooth connectivity, & bluetooth not working properly once connected.

My solution is for bluetooth that connects & works for music & other audio functions like playing back voicemail, but fails when trying to make a phone call.

I initially did a complete reset & turned off iCloud & found my phone to work a short while, but then stopped again < 24h later. One thing I had noted at the time was that bluetooth profiles for my iPads (which I never paired & were not created by me) disappeared & then reappeared under the bluetooth menu. I assume these profiles were being created by Apple via iCloud, explaining why some solutions work & some don’t depending on what devices are connected to iCloud & what their settings are.

My problem seemed to be connected to the new ability to pick up calls using other devices such as iPads. I noted that my iPads signed in on iCloud would show up as bluetooth options on my phone (I assume to allow them to connect & pick up calls from the phone). These iPads could not be simply deleted from the phones bluetooth profile (delete was greyed out).

    Solution:

I turned off answer cellular calls in the FaceTime preferences (and also “handoff” in General Preferences for good measure) of each of the iPads which caused them to disappear from my iPhone Bluetooth list. I cleared my bluetooth profiles from the car & phone, restarted the phone & re-paired, & my phone has been working normally since.

Turning off iCloud on those devices would have the same effect which is why it works in some of the solutions but returns when iCloud is turned back on, but this solution allowed me to maintain use of iCloud & bluetooth phone use in the car.

Hope this helps some of you.

I have the same issue. 2014 Nissan Rogue and a 64GB iPhone 6 running iOS 8.0.2. Bluetooth sync works and can get my contacts uploaded to Rogue, but cannot for the life of figure out to make or accept phone calls. Tried everything from re-syncing, resetting phone, etc. Extremely frustrating. I really hope Apple sends out a patch fix very soon. Find this unacceptable. Please keep me posted if anyone figures out a solution. Thanks.

    @Skozlick

I see you've been able to upload your contacts???  I've never been able to do so in my '09 Armada LE.  I'm interested to know how you did it or if there was a change to the software permitting you to do this (a lot can change between '09 & '14.)

    Thanks!

Same problem here after upgrading iPhone 6 to 8.02 (worked fine under 8.0.0, interestingly enough).

Resetting the network settings fixed the problem for me (at least for now).

Tried that. Still didn't work. Have basically come to the conclusion Apple will need to patch this on the next iOS 8.X.X update. Hoping it's soon.

On iPhone, under the bluetooth device settings specific to the car (in my case, it's called MY CAR), by selecting it, a menu pops up that requests whether I want to "share" my contact listing. You should be able to see that portion. I have the same question in my Rogue settings. Not sure you'll be able to see the same option on the '09 Armada. Otherwise, speak to Nissan for that end.

This is called iOS8 Continuity feature.

You can turn this off within HandOff in Settings/General/ Handoff & Suggested Apps(I turned off as Yosemite isn't available and I don't want to my iPad telling me I have a call...

and in Settings/Facetime/ turn off iPhone Cellular Calls (I don't use this for Facetime...you might).

But I assumed this feature used wifi and not anything with Bluetooth. I could be wrong...

Onto OP: user near me has a 2010 Honda CRV that the new iPhone6 won't Pair.

I gave her the suggestions of:

    -disable icloud (turn off )

-remove paired device (from both phone and car)

-soft reset of iphone (hold home and power till Apple Logo shows up)

    -reset Networking Setting

    -re-pair device

    -enable icloud

Mine works normally in a 2012 VW. I did notice that a contact calling, their photo takes up the whole screen on call. I don't remember that from before (was just the icon).

I was able to get mine to work this weekend in my '14 Xterra:

    1. Updated to iOS 8.0.2

    2. Deleted "My Xterra" from my iPhone 6 before turning my car on.

    3. Turned car on, deleted my iPhone 4s and iPhone 6 from the car's menu.

    4. In settings, I turned Cellular Data off and on again

    5. Paired the iPhone 6 with the car

I'm able to make and receive calls from the car, and can hear people through the speakers. Also, I'm able to hang up on bluetooth calls on my Motorola Sliver and Jaybird headphones by pressing the button. I have turned the phone off and on again to see if it reverts back to not working.
