Oct 5, 2014 8:47 PM in response to TheHajby rza63,Saw this in another thread. Try resetting your iPad. Hold the power button at the top right and the "home"? Button, the button above the power cord plug-in, for 10-15 seconds, until your screen goes black and then an apple appears. My safari is running faster and I copy and pasted 5 different links. Hope it keeps working!

Oct 6, 2014 12:29 AM in response to Nicletby davidfrommanteca,@Niclet - This "loading" issue can be found in Settings, General, About. I managed to get mine to quit saying "loading" but the copy and paste still doesn't work. iPad is still slow as molasses too!

Oct 6, 2014 1:24 PM in response to TheHajby mischmitz,I was experiencing the same issues with my iPad 2.
Reading thru these posts I reminded myself, that the facebook app caused performance issues a while ago because it uses inefficient ways to update itself in the background. Because I didn't use it anyway I just removed it.
Along with that, I removed some media and half a dozend other appe I haven't use for a long time Including a VPN.
FInally I restarted the iPad.
SInce then everytthing is running almost as fast as with IOS 7.
So no clue what finally caused the IOS 8 slowdown but cleaning up seems to be a good idea in any case.

Oct 11, 2014 1:17 PM in response to TheHajby luay1985,I have an iPhone 4S, currently running on 8.0.2 ... the slowness is seasonal, I don't feel it always, specially when you enable (reduce motion) and few other options. However, I do have the copy paste issue as everyone is explaining ... as if the clipboard is stuck with previous copy ... it's supper inconvenient ... I hope they fix it with the 8.1 release next week

Oct 15, 2014 12:07 PM in response to Brunnianby surferchick2,Also just trying to copy from one of my iBooks PDF files or a webpage, it'll like highlight one word and you can't drag it out to cover the whole thing. I'm so glad I didn't update my iphone. I've had to rely on it to copy and paste.

Oct 19, 2014 11:31 AM in response to TheHajby _King_Kevin_,I figured it out. You get on Safari or Facebook or wherever you're copying and then you copy, but then when you get out of the app you have to close it out. Then you go to another app and paste and it will work!!!And I swear to you it works

Oct 19, 2014 11:54 AM in response to _King_Kevin_by woodyrich,KIng_Kevin, glad that approach repeatedly works for you. Not the case for me. There is no consistency when it will or will not work. In fact, I have had something I typed and never copied into clipboard ....show up as a paste when I've copied something specific to paste. Whether it's FB and Safari, or FB to FB, Safari to Safari, Google, Twitter, et al. I can copy and paste something and it will successfully paste from one app into iMessage. I can coy it multiple times, cut it, paste it, and copy again. When I go into FB or safari or the new messenger ..... Some old crap pastes inside that particular app. and not what I intentionally have copied. It's like its a cache scenario. I've done the closed apps, power down the iPad, etc. Nada. Sometimes one approach works, sometimes it does not. Keep us posted ..... If you continue to have repeated successes with no faulcers.

Oct 19, 2014 2:26 PM in response to TheHajby Justinlovenow,iOS 8.0.2 + iPhone 4S:
Copy-Paste bug, Safari doesn't load anymore at all, apps are freezing, phone is now useless...
Hope that iOS 8.1 update will resolve the bugs.
I have never expected such lousy sloppy work from Apple, really really disappointing...

Oct 19, 2014 2:50 PM in response to woodyrichby womandi,I am so sick of this problem, too. I find it UNREAL that Apple has not addressed it (via this board, + other avenues). I'm SURE that we on this board are not the only ones w/ the problem. There must be millions or billions of others!
Maybe..................
1) Apple is testing to see how "powerful" they are over "controlling" people's phones, communications, or whatever. Surprise! It's making me think to get a Windows phone next time around.
2) Apple wants to make people think that if they purchase a new device, all will be well. Well surprise! This copy/paste thing is happening on iPhone 6's too. So that's not it.
3) This may be hard to believe, but I have this copy/paste problem here on my HP laptop too! (SOMEtimes). Never, ever had it before. I'd like to say it's a Windows bug, but my iPhone and iPad are not Windows.
Ugh! WTH could be causing this strange behavior? And for SO LONG now????

Oct 20, 2014 10:09 AM in response to TheHajby sallypants,I've been having the same problem for several weeks now (inability to paste "copied" text). iPhone 4S 16GB, IOS 8.0.2. I've been trying to copy & paste a quote from Facebook, Safari and Google apps into LinkedIn. I've been able to highlight and copy, however, when I go to paste, nothing will come up
I read your posts, tried most of what you suggested and I managed to get it to work, so I thought I'd share to hopefully help y'all:
- I freed up some storage space & memory by deleting some photos & apps, closing all my Safari browser windows and open apps
- I made sure everything loaded when I opened Settings > General > About (before, it wouldn't load the number of songs, etc; I had in there and someone else mentioned this)
- I installed the free app iClear & ran it to clear my clipboard, even though it showed nothing on my clipboard
- I did a hard restart (holding the power & home buttons down at the same time until the phone shut down & restarted)
After those 4 steps, I went into Safari, copied the quote and successfully pasted it into my LinkedIn app. Then I went back into Safari, copied another quote and pasted it into Twitter. So it seems to be working for the time being, which is saving me some sanity. Hopefully these steps work for you too!

Oct 20, 2014 10:18 AM in response to TheHajby ColdDogqc,I Made some test and realise that, when i copy a link in youtube or safari and want to paste it in facebook. If facebook app isn't closed, facebook keep old clipboard copy. I had to completely close facebook app, recopy the link then reopen facebook to paste and share it... That work... It look like apps issue between ios 8 full compatibility with this copy/paste from clipboard Function
