Q: IOS 8 copy paste problem + slowdown

Close completely = double push home button and slide up

iOS 8.1 just launched, can anyone verify whether this fixes the copy/paste issues?

Good news with 8.1 Guys !!

I have just updated my iPhone 4S to 8.1 ... I have tested the copy paste feature among different application (Mail, Notes, iMessage, WhatsApp, Facebook etc.) ... it has been a success on every time ... I tried it like 10 times with 10 different texts and applications ... it works well finally !

WARNING: If you've just upgraded to iOS8.1 on your iPad 2 be warned ahead of time; DO NOT DO A HARD REBOOT!

My screen was locked for hours with the Apple logo and I was thinking I'd have no choice but to hook a laptop up through

iTunes and do a full restore on my pad. Luckily and eventually the plain black screen came back then my sleep screen.

I'm almost afraid just to shut it down for the night till I see if anyone else has heard of this glitch.

Oh yes, iOS 8.1 was fully loaded and operating prior to the reboot but since it was misbehaving that's why I did the reboot.

Do be careful if you have an older iPad or  iPhone though.

Any body else install the 8.1 update and have good results with copy/paste that didn't work right before?

I'm just waiting to see read about all the successes before I jump on upgrading too!

My iMac is waiting for me to upgrade too  but I'll hold off for a few more days.

I do hope that all of us will experience positive results!

It seems to have worked for me... I mean my iPad2 with the 8.1 update. Copy/paste from Safari to FB, from an email to Notes, in either way it work so far.

I'm also very frustrated with the copy/paste problem.  As far as other issues after IOS update...after going up the customer service chain at Apple, they finally had me restore to factory settings a second time...but not putting the backup back on this time.  I haven't loaded apps back in yet as they told me there must be something corrupt (app or whatever) in my backup.  The locking up and lag problems seem to be a lot better.  Now I am scared to put any apps back because I don't know what was causing the slow down and lockups in the first place.  Can't understand why Apple can't come up with some type of system scan that would find corrupt files or apps on a device. I mean...what good is having my device if I can't use any apps? The copy and paste thing is now the biggest problem I have. That is something I use a lot and didn't have problems until I updated to IOS 8.  I do believe it is a cache problem...but that is a bug Apple should be able to fix.  I have sent my customer service supervisor at Apple an email again about still having this issue after latest restore and am waiting to see what she suggests next. Will advise if I find out anything that fixes. I will try closing out runnng stuff next time when trying to copy and paste from one application to another to see if that works for me.  That seems a lot of trouble though.

iPhone 4s • iOS 8.1

Weell I'm sad to say that by time, the Copy/Paste issue came back. I was copying from YouTube app and pasting to iMessage and the same behavior: it paste an old clipboard entry.

I'm very disappointed !

iPad2 under iOS 8.1

Copy-Paste problem still there on iPhone 4S AFTER 8,1 update!

I went ahead and installed OSI 8.1 and it fixed the copy/paste problem on my iPad2 16GB

But

Safari took a second boot after the install to work

Gmail thru Safari is still is deleting mail that I haven't selected and I can't access my folders

Photobucket freezes when I select IMG Code

Found my problem with Gmail and Photobucket has a fix in to the Apple Store.

It seems to be working fine after about 5 hours of use since iOS 8.1 installed On iPad2.

Upgraded to 8.1 IOS release and still experiencing copy paste issue on iPad2!   Thought maybe it could be a specific app issue, like FB.  However, it's an issue whether I google and decide to copy paste from Google, or if I then select open with safari and try to copy paste into email.! FB, iMessage, etc. Makes no difference which apps I am interfacing with.  The copy paste issue still ever present in IOS 8.1
