Q: iPhone 6 not connecting to car Bluetooth

If 8.1 isn't fixing this problem then I suggest for safety reasons you try SETTINGS/GENERAL/RESET/RESET ALL SETTINGS. No data or media will be deleted.  This fixed the Bluetooth problem for both my wife's iPhone 6 and mine. 

My 6 plus won't pair in my 2013 Hyundai.

And no, it isn't the car.

Tried resetting, etc. Nothing works

I have same problem with 5s.  Cannot use siri to initiate a call.   Safety issue.   Please fix, Apple.   Soon

to pair your phone to your car in ios8.1

1. on your phone , you need to be signed into iCloud.

TO check if you are signed in. Go to iCloud on you computer and go to Find my Phone.

IF your phone is not showing up then you need to turn iClould on on your phone, in settings>iCloud>press your name and enter your Apple Password.

IT will verify you then go to a contact info screen. your in now!!

2  If you are not sure and don't have a computer, then go to settings>iCloud and at the bottom of the page. "Sign out". Then "sign in" again.

3 Now that you are signed into the cloud, go to you car.

start your car. And go to settings>bluetooth and turn Bluetooth on on your phone.

4  Ask your Handsfree system for a list of commands. you want to "Pair"   For my car which is a Honda. I had to say "Settings" then "Pair" and then the car told me to put the code of "0000" into the phone

5. The phone the saw my car and wanted the pairing code. Put the code in and then there was the connection.

New iPhone 6 paired by pressing the off-hook display of the phone which happens to be on my car steering wheel. On the navigation system, select settings, select Bluetooth, select register. On the phone in the main menu select settings, select Bluetooth (and be sure that it's on), select "handsfree", enter the PIN that's displayed on the car into the phone, and select pair. Those steps worked for me.

So I too have an IPhone 6 Plus with sudden connectivity issues with the phone. I could Bluetooth stream music no problem. Tried doing the resetting on the phone, deleting the devices. I even callled Sync troubleshooting and they suggested I take it to a dealership and have a "hard reset" done.

So I called the dealership and they said it could take 4 hours!!!!

I went ahead and scheduled it and as soon as I got off the phone with them I decided to give something else a shot.

I located the fuse box and removed the fuse that powered the Sync radio and put it back in and IT WORKED!!!!

That was a brilliant idea.  Honest!

The solution is very easy, you don't need restore the iOS or reset anything in the iphone, how you used old Apple device in the car Bluetooth

And the  new iphone 6 have some different Bluetooth feature, the only you need to do is>

clear the car bluetooth memory (history connections). And it will work perfectly!!!

Same is happening with my iPhone6+ and I'm unable to pair it with Sony BLUR-RAY Home Theatre. The other device easily get paired whereas iPhone6+ not.

Your issue is completely different.  Most people were reporting issues connecting to car systems.  What are you trying to stream to your Blu Ray?  I'm not aware that iPhone can pair with a Blu Ray player.  You say other devices can, which ones can?

The only you need to do is clear the Bluetooth memory connection to Sony blu and try again, it will work.

This option worked for me.  My Honda HFL refused to detect my iPhone 6 even though it did recognize my wife's iPhone 6. After following your instruction here it paired and works great.  Thanks.

Sorry, I know there are a ton of posts and solutions on this strand, but I just went through it with my older car (a 2006 Lexus is250 w/ Navigation for those in a similar situation) and after speaking with Lexus, chatting with Apple Care for 45+ minutes and searching online, I finally resolved the issue after going to my dealership.  After deleting all of my old phones from my car's bluetooth settings, I tried pairing and my phone would read the car as a "1" and once I hit it, the car would still announce that it failed to connect.  At the dealership we discovered if we typed my iPhone's device name (my phone called itself "iPhone") before hitting REGISTER on my car, it worked (not case specific as it was all caps on my car).  Before the new phone, the car automatically read my device and filled the name in.  So, the new step was having to write the device's name in for it.  Not sure if that will solve anyone else's problems, but it worked for my Lexus.

not sure if you were ever able to connect your iPhone 6 to your blue tooth but I figured out finally after several attempts how to connect my iPhone 6. On your iPhone Under your Bluetooth  settings were it says now discoverable ie. First name last name's iPhone. When your bluetooth device your trying to connect to, asks you for a name of device you have to use the one on your phone. Usually your first last name and then iPhone. At least this worked for me. Hope this makes since and helps.

I got my iPhone 6 plus and I have Bluetooth on my Pioneer car stereo system that has synced with my previous iPhones and allowed me to access my contacts as well as use the Bluetooth to answer calls. It took several tries to get it to pair with the iPhone 6 plus. I finally had to delete the previous pairings of my other iPhones (which were still in the system) and then start over to pair the phone. Then it worked. Although one feature is different. On my previous phones when I was in the car and Bluetooth was on and the phone rang, I could answer it through the Bluetooth system or, if I wanted the call to be private, answer it with the iPhone. On my iPhone screen there were choices and I could chose to answer via the iPhone. On the 6 plus, that feature isn't there. Anyone else know about this part of the Bluetooth on the 6 plus?
