Q: iPhone 6 not connecting to car Bluetooth

So I got my iPhone 6 yesterday, and while all seems well, I can't get it to connect to my car's Bluetooth system.   My older 5S running iOS8 does fine, so I don't think is the OS... And, frankly, this is an after market bluetooth set up in my 2006 Murano, but all other phones can connect, just not the iPhone 6.

There is no manual for the car's system, but I've managed to get it to "search", and while the car does find my phone, there is no way to enter a code on the phone to get it to pair properly.  And the phone NEVER sees the BT module in the car to do the pairing.

Again, this is NOT a iOS 8 problem... but one with the new iPhone 6

I Was having the same issue as well when I got my iPhone 6. I drive a Ford Focus.  I went into the system settings on my car and erased all phones that were paired. I then set up my iPhone 6 again and it seems to be working.  Perhaps its having trouble connected because the car doesn't know its the primary phone? I will see if it keeps happening. But for now it's working.

I have a Lexus 450H.  My iPhone 6 is paired, all phone functions work perfectly.  I can play music using The Bluetooth option - however. although the device is successfully connected, I cannot play music using the iPod function.

The scary part, is that that function  worked on Saturday - the day after I set-up my phone - but no longer worked yesterday or today. I have tried 3 USB cables - including the one that worked on Saturday.

Anyone else experiencing thIs?  I am reluctant to wipe phone OR remove pairing since I am "partially" functional.

I am able to pair my iPhone 6 to my car's (2015 Acura MDX) system and play music through the car, but it won't send calls through the car system.  I have to use my iPhone to make all calls.  I've deleted the old phone and re-installed the new phone but to no avail.  Anyone with an Acura have this problem?

I restored my iPhone 6 plus to factory settings last night and set it up as a new phone (ie, didn't restore from backup). When I re-paired it with my car audio streaming worked at first but after a few songs I started to get choppy audio again. Made a couple of voice calls and those seemed to work better.

I drive a 2010 BMW 328i, I first noticed this problem yesterday. My iphone 6 Plus will sync just fine with my car via Bluetooth but I am unable to make or receive calls through my car. Typically when the iPhone syncs with my car, I get the phone emblem along with the cell phone signal strength indicator (those vertical bars) on my car's navigation screen. This time I just have the signal strength indicator but no phone emblem and I am unable to place calls through the car. I've tried resetting all settings on my iPhone 6 Plus and resetting network settings as well and the problem still persists. My iPhone 5S on iOS 7 worked just fine.  I hope Apple comes out with a fix soon.

follow up...I've also deleted the phone on the car and paired it numerous times as well as "forget this device" on the phone and the problem still persists.

Got exactly the same issue with a 2014 Audi A3 and an iPhone 6.

Pairs perfectly ok but on attempting to call, it ringstwice , shows network error and drops the handsfree but actually reverts to iPhone only albeit not even on speaker. Have reset network settings, deleted all devices on the car and re-paired three times but still the problem persists.

An iPhone 5s on iOS8 doesn't have any issues with the same car.

Come on Apple, give us a fix quickly!

Update: My phone works now. I can now receive and make calls through my car using  Bluetooth. However, the phone emblem on my car's navigation screen, which usually comes up when my phone is synced, is not showing.

Well I have the 5S and now ios8 and I cannot use SIRI to place calls; they get dropped immediately.  I can call using my phone and then Bluetooth in the car takes over.

Agree, Apple please find a fix as soon as you can.

I followed joxesCA's advice and grudgingly went the Reset All Settings route.  It appears to have been successful with my 2013 Ford Fusion.  Numerous other "fixes" did not work or worked only temporarily.  I made and received several BT calls since trying this one.  We'll see, in time, if this last fix sticks.

In the meantime, I'm going to go spend the required time to get my various settings on my iPhone 6 back to where I like them!

I'm having a similar issue.  There are several threads on this subject, so hopefully the Apple War Room has already taken notice.

In my case, I've been using my iPhone 5s with iOS 7 in my 2013 Toyota Avalon for both phone and audio.  The car sees two different bluetooth connections, one for the phone and another as a bluetooth audio device.  Since upgrading to the iPhone 6, either the phone or the audio connections work, but not both.  I can force both to work by telling the phone and car to forget each other and re-configure, but that only lasts for one trip in the car.  If I want the phone to work and I want to listen to audio from the iPhone 6, I have to repeat this process each time I start the car.

No doubt Apple will have a fix for this soon.

Finally got all functions working (in Lexus 450H).

Did a hard re-set on iPhone 6, and the iPod function started to work (phone and music via Bluetooth always worked).

Did not have to restore phone to factory serrings or delete and re-pair to car.

I am having the exact same issue with MY iPhone 6.  It has to be my phone, because my wife has the exact same phone and can connect, no problem.  My phone on both our 2011 Honda Odyssey AND 2014 Hyundai Sonata will NOT connect.  It does connect, but will not work with phone or music!  My wife's same iPhone, no problem!  Grrrrrrr.
